A use solution of the detergent compositions containing disclosed phosphonates can retain its enzyme activity for an extended period of time. Specifically, one specific type of phosphonates and another specific type of amine phosphonate salts were discovered to stabilize enzymes in detergent compositions. Solid detergent compositions that contain disclosed phosphonate or amine phosphonate salts are more effective to remove soils and can save production and use costs.

The effervescent agent can contain an acidic component such as a tricarboxylic acid, a dicarboxylic acid other than tartaric acid, inorganic acids, and a basic component.

The invention relates to compositions, methods of use, and methods of manufacture for an intercalated bleach compound and compositions thereof. The intercalated bleach compound has the formula M.sub.x(OCl).sub.y(O).sub.m(OH).sub.n where M is an alkaline earth metal such as magnesium, calcium or mixture thereof. The values of x and y independently equal any number greater than or equal to 1 (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), and m and n independently equal any number greater than or equal to 0 (e.g., 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), but m and n are not both 0. In addition, the molar ratio of the alkaline earth metal (e.g., magnesium or calcium) to hypochlorite is at least 3:1. In other words, x is 3y. The compounds exhibit excellent stability, little or no chlorine bleach odor, exhibit excellent pH buffering characteristics, and less reactivity with organic materials as compared to alternative chlorine bleach products.

In one aspect, a personal care cleaning composition in tablet form may include a surfactant and a starch composition formed from starch, alcohol and water. The tablet may be formed using a method that includes preparing the starch slurry composition comprising the starch, alcohol and water, preparing a mixture of the starch slurry composition and the surfactant, and pressing the mixture into tablet form. In another aspect, a personal care cleaning composition in tablet form may include a surfactant, a starch composition formed from starch, alcohol and water, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and glycol ether. The tablet may be formed using a method that includes preparing the starch slurry composition comprising the starch, alcohol and water, preparing a mixture of the starch slurry composition and the surfactant, the sodium carbonate, the sodium bicarbonate, the citric acid and the glycol ether, and pressing the mixture into tablet form.

USE OF AMINO CARBOXYLATE FOR ENHANCING METAL PROTECTION IN ALKALINE DETERGENTS

The invention includes ware detergent compositions which prevent buildup of precipitates and also surprisingly provides significant metal protection of items exposed to alkaline detergent composition. According to the invention alkaline ware detergents may include an effective amount of amino carboxylate. Surprisingly, detergents which included amino carboxylate also provided significant metal protection against corrosion, even when traditional corrosion inhibiting components are reduced.

PYRITHIONE PRESERVATIVE SYSTEM IN SOLID RINSE AID PRODUCTS

Solid rinse aid compositions and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. Solid rinse aid compositions include in a single concentrate composition a pyrithione preservative system to replace conventional preservatives in the isothiazolinone family, such as chloromethylisothiazolinone. Beneficially, the pyrithione preservative systems eliminate the need for any personal protective equipment to handle the solid rinse aid compositions. Methods of making and use using the rinse aids are also disclosed.
