Near Neutral pH Pickle on Multi-metals
A near neutral pH pickling composition for the removal of oxides from metallic surfaces, including heat treated steel. The pickling composition comprises a) a water-soluble organic or inorganic nitro compound, wherein a central N atom has an oxidation state of 3+; b) a polarizing agent for the nitro compound, wherein the polarizing agent comprises at least one of a phosphonate and a carboxylate; c) a pH buffer, and d) at least one metal complexing agent. The composition is preferably maintained at a pH between about 4.5 and about 7.5. The near neutral pH pickle composition can be used on various metallic surfaces as well as composite surfaces comprising metallic and non-metallic portions.
High molecular weight polyacrylates for aluminum protection in warewash applications
A warewashing detergent composition is provided for use for in cleaning of alkaline sensitive metals such as aluminum or aluminum containing alloys. The compositions include alternatives to sodium tripolyphosphate and/or other phosphorous containing raw materials, while retaining cleaning performance and corrosion prevention. According to the invention, high molecular weight polyacrylates (polyacrylic acid homopolymers) with a molecular weight of at least about 5000 are used as corrosion inhibitors and can be included for aluminum protection in a number of different detergent compositions.
Laundry care or dish care composition comprising a poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative
A laundry care or dish care composition can include a poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative, wherein the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative includes: (i) a poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone of glucose monomer units, wherein greater than or equal to 40% of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,6 glycosidic linkages, and wherein from 0% to less than 30% of the glucose monomer units are linked via alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages, and optionally at least 5% of the backbone glucose monomer units have branches via alpha-1,2 and/or alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages; and (ii) at least one organic group linked to the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone through a ##STR00001##
linkage moiety;
wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan backbone has a weight average degree of polymerization of at least 5; and
wherein, the poly alpha-1,6-glucan derivative has a degree of substitution of ##STR00002##
linkage moiety of from 0.20 to 1.00.
Rinsing Solution for Metal Blades
A blade rinse composition comprising about 0.0001 to 0.01 wt. % disodium tetraborate decahydrate, about 0.0001 to 0.01 wt. % cationic surfactant, up to 5 wt. % anhydrous alcohol, and deionized water is disclosed, together with methods of making and using the same. The composition may prevent oxidation and/or contamination of metal blades and premature dullness of the blades.
Detergent composition comprising phosphinosuccinic acid adducts and methods of use
Detergent compositions effective for controlling hard water scale accumulation are disclosed. Detergent compositions employing phosphinosuccinic acid and mono-, bis- and oligomeric phosphinosuccinic acid (PSO) derivatives with alkali metal carbonate and/or alkali metal hydroxide reduce hard water scale accumulation on treated surfaces at alkaline conditions between about pH of 9 and 12.5. Methods employing the detergent compositions and preventing hard water scale accumulation are also provided.
ACIDIC HARD SURFACE CLEANERS COMPRISING ALKYLPYRROLIDONES
The need for an acidic liquid hard surface cleaning composition which provides improved removal of grease residues, while still being effective at removing limes-scale, is met by formulating an acidic liquid hard surface cleaning composition with an alkyl pyrrolidone, and additional nonionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of: alkoxylated nonionic surfactant, alkyl polyglucoside, and mixtures thereof, while limiting the amount of anionic surfactant present.
Polyfunctional polymers based on phosphonate units and amine units
The invention relates to polyfunctional polymers suitable in particular for the treatment of metal surfaces (metal finishing) and comprising: monomer units u1 bearing phosphonic acid functions; monomer units u2 bearing amine functions; and optionally monomer units u3 bearing alcohol units OH.
FLUORINATED ACID COMPOUNDS, COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
Novel acid-based chemistries that can be used in various cleaning, de-scaling, rust-removal, brightening, etching and other similar applications, including, but not limited to, those based upon hexafluorozirconic acid and other additives, such as urea in some applications, which are effective for a wide range of applications, while avoiding the health, safety and environmental issues that are often associated with the use of hydrochloric acid and other toxic chemistries.
Dry wipe with demisting and/or cleaning action
The present invention relates to a dry wipe comprising a woven or knitted microfiber fabric having hydrophilic polymer microfibers and lipophilic polymer microfibers, which is impregnated with at least one surfactant, the hydrophilic/lipophilic balance (HLB) of which is greater than or equal to 5. These wipes can be used to clean the surface of substrates and/or to confer demisting properties on hydrophilic surfaces.
