Disposable Urinal Bag and Methods Associated Therewith
20230329894 · 2023-10-19 ·

A sanitary hand-held disposable portable urinal device is well suited for male use. In an embodiment, this easy to use device has a leak and splash resistant flexible, sealable opening that is attached to two flexible transparent plastic bags. In an embodiment, bags are nested inside of each other and are joined together to provide entry only to the inner bag. The bags are odor and vapor sealable and made of a hydrophobic polymer that may be biodegradable. In the space between the two bags a dry gel polymer is present. After the urine is collected in the inner bag the top of the bag is sealed. The contents of the inner bag are then exposed to the space containing the gel through a water soluble, or mechanical means. After use, the disposable urinal may be discarded.

IRRIGATION AND ASPIRATION DEVICE AND METHOD

Irrigation and/or aspiration devices and methods may be configured to aspirate and irrigate alone, sequentially, or concurrently. The devices and methods may provide a base with a removable head, and adapted for partial or complete separation of the irrigation and aspiration functions. The devices and methods can be configured to aspirate and/or irrigate the nasal and sinus cavities. The devices and methods may be manually and/or automatically controlled. The devices and methods may include removable, and/or replaceable, and/or refillable, and easily cleanable reservoirs for aspirant and irrigant. The device head and/or aspirant reservoir may comprise a diagnostic device, i.e., test device and/or container after use of the devices and methods.

COMPACT TESTING DEVICE
20230020903 · 2023-01-19 ·

A lateral flow testing device includes a main body adapted to support an element for collecting a sample. The element is supported at a distal end of the testing device and is in fluid communication with one or more testing components having an analyte detection zone for detecting one or more analytes present in said sample. The testing components produce visual information related to said sample, thereby informing the user of the outcome of a test. The device incorporates a handle reconfigurable with respect to said main body such that in a first handle configuration, the handle hinders sight of the visual information to improve privacy of the test, and in a second handle configuration, the handle facilitates the collection of said sample by increasing a distance between a proximal end of the testing device and the element.

Bodily emission analysis

Apparatus and methods are described for use with feces of a subject that are disposed within a toilet bowl, and an output device. One or more light sensors are configured to receive light from the toilet bowl, while the feces are disposed within the toilet bowl. A computer processor analyzes the received light, and, in response thereto, detects a currently-occurring inflammatory bowel disease episode, and/or a predicted upcoming inflammatory bowel disease episode. The computer processor generates an output on the output device, at least partially in response thereto. Other applications are also described.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR SELF-COLLECTION OF BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES
20220409188 · 2022-12-29 ·

A universal single-handed device for self-collection of a biological sample is described herein. The single-handed device may comprise a sheath comprising a distal end for insertion into a portion of a user's body, a shaft at least partially within the sheath, having a collection head for collecting the biological sample positioned at the distal end thereof, and an actuator coupled to the shaft to transition the distal end between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The collection head is covered by the distal end in the closed configuration and is exposed when the distal end is in the open configuration.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING AND PREPARING BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES FOR TESTING

A kit and a method are disclosed for collecting and preparing a biological sample for testing where the sample is to be mixed with a buffer prior to being tested.

WEARABLE FLUIDIC DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR SWEAT COLLECTION AND EXTRACTION

A sweat collection system includes a sweat collection device configured to be adhered to the skin of a user to collect sweat for storage, extraction, and analysis. The sweat collection device includes a flexible body having a first, outwardly facing surface and a second, skin-facing surface, and a sweat collection channel formed in the body and having a first end defining a sweat inlet port, and a second end defining a sweat outlet port. A biochemical assay well is formed in the sweat channel, and a dye is disposed therein and is positioned to react with sweat in the sweat channel and to provide an indicator of the flow of the sweat in the sweat channel. The sweat collection device is affixed to the skin to determine a total volume of sweat collected over a known period, and a graph of sweat volume over time is plotted to determine a sweat rate.
