Lancet device
A lancet device generally includes a housing having opposing lateral sides extending between a forward end and a rearward end, and a shield coaxially and movably associated with the housing. The housing includes a plurality of longitudinal ribs extending along a portion of at least one of the opposing lateral sides. The plurality of longitudinal ribs form a finger grip on at least one of, and typically both of the opposing lateral sides. The shield is generally movable from a first position in which the shield extends outwardly from the forward end of the housing to a second position in which the shield is at least partially moved within the housing, based on axial pressure applied by the user against the finger grip formed by the longitudinal ribs.
A Cutting Assembly And A Drive Assembly For A Surgical Instrument
A cutting assembly for a surgical instrument including an outer hub, an outer tube, a cutting implement, and a drive hub. A retention flange of the drive hub is arranged to retain the cutting shaft within the outer tube. The cutting assembly may include a seal, and the retention flange may contact the seal. An irrigation spacer may provide a stop of distal axial movement of the drive hub or permitting fluid to flow through irrigation passageways. The drive assembly may include an irrigation port and a suction port with a proximal end of the irrigation port may positioned axially distal to a proximal portion of the suction port. The irrigation port may be coupled to a handpiece, and the suction port may be coupled to a back cap. A handpiece may include a saddle region, recesses, and/or an apex region to facilitate ergonomic handling of the surgical instrument.
Circular stapling device and method of use
A circular stapling device is described that is particularly suited for creating stomas. The circular stapling device includes two tool assemblies. The first tool assembly is adapted to create a reinforced incision in tissue, e.g., the rectus sheath, through which a vessel portion, e.g., colon, small intestine, etc. can be pulled through during a surgical procedure. The second tool assembly is adapted to attach a stomal sleeve within the vessel portion such that the stomal sleeve extends from the stoma.
Device and methods for inspection and treatment of hemorrhoids
A device may include an elongated housing formed of an optically transparent material, the housing extending from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lateral wall extending from the proximal end to a distal tip of the housing, the housing defining a lumen extending into the housing from a proximal opening in the proximal end of the housing. The device also may include a first port extending through the lateral wall of the housing to open the lumen of the housing to an exterior of the housing, the first port being sized and shaped to receive therein a target portion of tissue to be inspected and/or treated.
Hand-held surgical instruments
A hand-held surgical instrument includes a handle housing, an elongated shaft portion configured to extend distally relative to the handle housing, and a surgical end effector configured to be coupled to a distal end portion of the shaft portion. An articulation screw is operably coupled to the surgical end effector, and an articulation nut is disposed about and operably coupled to the articulation screw. The articulation screw is configured to translate in response to a rotation of the articulation nut, whereby the articulation screw articulates the surgical end effector between a parallel orientation relative to the shaft portion and a non-parallel orientation relative to the shaft portion.
TREATMENT INSTRUMENT WITH VIBRATION GENERATING DEVICE
The disclosed technology is directed to a treatment instrument having a vibration generating device and a handle for operation. The vibration generating device comprises a housing and a generator including a transducer disposed within the housing. The transducer generates vibration by using electric energy and a first electric contact disposed on the housing. A connector is rotatable about a predetermined rotational axis with respect to the housing of the generator. A coupler is disposed in the connector and having a second electric contact rotatable about the predetermined rotational axis with respect to the first electric contact in a state in which an electric connection of the second electric contact to the first electric contact is maintained. The connector further includes a conductive member forming a part of an electric path of a current that flows based on an operating input at an operating member provided on the handle.
Surgical Instrument
A surgical instrument has two components hinged to one another, each having an actuating element, and a locking device. The actuating elements can be displaced away from one another by a spreading movement whereby the components are pivoted with respect to one another within a first pivot plane from an initial position into an actuating position. A locking element is in operative connection with the components in a locked position. An unlocking element can be displaced along an unlocking path within a second pivot plane parallel to the first pivot plane in a direction of unlocking. The unlocking element can be brought into operative connection with the locking element, by which the locking element can be transferred into a release position and the components can be pivoted. The unlocking element can be actuated in a direction of unlocking that is the same as the direction of spreading.
BONE TIE AND PORTAL
Various systems and methods for treating the spine are provided. A portal system can be provided for treating the spine. The portal system can include a portal comprising a proximal end and a distal end, a first passageway extending between the proximal end and the distal end, a second passageway extending between the proximal end and the distal end, and a latch. The bone tie can include a head, a body section comprising one or more gears, and a fastener section comprising a ratchet.
Secondary instrument control in a computer-assisted teleoperated system
Systems and methods for a teleoperational system and control thereof are provided. An exemplary system includes a first manipulator configured to support an instrument moveable within an instrument workspace, the instrument having an instrument frame of reference, and includes an operator input device configured to receive movement commands from an operator. The system further includes a control system to implement the movement commands by comparing an orientation of the instrument with an orientation of a field of view of the instrument workspace to produce an orientation comparison. When the comparison does not meet certain criteria, the control system causes instrument motion in a first direction relative to the instrument frame in response to a movement command. When the comparison meets the criteria, the control system causes instrument in a second direction relative to the instrument frame in response to the movement command. The second direction differs from the first direction.
Light displays in a medical device
An example medical device may include a first component including an interface, a light feature surrounding at least part of the interface, and a controller coupled to the light feature and including a memory in which are stored instructions for the controller causing a first illumination state of the light a feature corresponding to a first state of the interface, and the controller causing a second illumination state of the Sight feature corresponding to a second state of the interface.
