Handle Assembly Providing Unlimited Roll
An example roll handle assembly includes a handle body, a roll body, a closure body, and a shuttle body. The roll body is coupled to the handle body and has a rotational degree of freedom about a roll axis relative to the handle body. The roll body is translationally constrained along the roll axis relative to the handle body. The closure body is coupled to the handle body and has one or more degrees of freedom of motion relative to the handle body. The shuttle body is coupled to the roll body and the closure body, and has a translational degree of freedom along the roll axis relative to the roll body. The shuttle body is rotationally constrained about the roll axis relative to the roll body, and has a rotational degree of freedom about the roll axis relative to the closure body.
Cooperative surgical actions for robot-assisted surgical platforms
Various robotic surgical systems are disclosed. A robotic surgical system comprises: a first robotic arm comprising a first force sensor, a second robotic arm comprising a second force sensor, and a control unit. The control unit comprises a processor and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive a first input from the first force sensor, to receive a second input from the second force sensor, and to effect cooperative movement of the first robotic arm and the second robotic arm based on the first input from the first force sensor and the second input from the second force sensor in a load control mode.
SURGICAL RETRACTOR
A surgical retractor is disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a surgical retractor includes a body extending from a proximal end to a distal end and having a first portion coupled to a second portion via a hinged connection, wherein the first and second portions are configured to rotate about a body axis; a first radiolucent tip coupled to a distal portion of the first portion; a second radiolucent tip coupled to a distal portion of the second portion; a holder coupled to one of the first or second portions; and a deformable member extending through the holder, wherein the deformable member is configured to be deformed to facilitate fixation of the surgical retractor at a desired location.
HEMOSTATIC DEVICE
A hemostatic device is worn on a hand having a site where bleeding is to be stopped and includes a pressing member that applies a compression force to the site. The hemostatic device further includes a cover configured to be worn on a thumb and a dorsal side of the hand, and a linear member having a first end connected to the cover and configured to secure the cover to the hand when a second end thereof is attached to the cover. The cover has a hole which surrounds a portion of the linear member and the pressing member is disposed on a distal side of the cover relative to a virtual line passing through the hole and the connection portion.
HEMOSTATIC DEVICE
A hemostatic device is disclosed capable of effectively performing hemostasis on a puncture site of a subject without generating over-pressurization compression. The hemostatic device includes a first hemostatic member and a second hemostatic member which is movable relatively close to or away from the first hemostatic member, pinches a skin around the puncture site of the subject between the first hemostatic member and the second hemostatic member when the second hemostatic member moves toward the first hemostatic member, and performs hemostasis on the puncture site.
WEARABLE GESTURE RECOGNITION DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED OPERATION METHOD AND SYSTEM
A wearable gesture recognition device includes a plurality of electrodes arranged to be arranged on a body part of a wearer, a signal generator arranged to provide a signal to at least one of the electrodes for transmission of a respective excitation signal to the body part of the wearer, and a signal processor arranged to process respective response signal received by at least one of the remaining electrodes as a result of the respective excitation signal, for determination of an electrical impedance tomogram for gesture recognition.
CHIRAL NEEDLE PACKAGES AND RECEPTACLES
A chiral needle package and receptacle are configured together so as to allow a user to configure the suture package and receptacle in a first chiral configuration for right handed use and a second chiral configuration for left handed use. The chirality configurable suture package and needle receptacle can be configured in many ways, and may comprise a first cover on a first side to allow access to the one or more needles and the needle receptacle on first side corresponding to right handed use and chirality, and a second cover on a second side corresponding to left handed use and chirality. The chirality configurable suture package can be packaged with the chirality configurable needle receptacle in order to dispense and to receive needles, such that the suture package and the needle trap are packaged together in a sterile housing configured for right handed use or left-handed use.
SURGICAL RFID ASSEMBLIES FOR COMPATIBILITY DETECTION
A control system for a surgical instrument. The control system comprises an RFID scanner and a control circuit coupled to the RFID scanner. The control circuit is configured to receive data from RFID tags associated with devices, determine whether the devices are compatible based on a comparison of the received data, and provide an alert that the devices are incompatible or a suggestion to replace one of the devices with a replacement compatible device.
Self-orienting surgical light panel
A lighting system for an operating room wherein machine-controlled light sources are Bluetooth-enabled to allow them to locate and track the movement of a device worn on the hand or wrist of a surgeon or other operating room personnel. In preferred embodiments, the system described herein will accommodate light source tracking for multiple surgeon-worn devices worn by one or more wearers. The system is capable of toggling between modes of following the wearer's movement and focusing on a single point determined by the wearer, where mode swapping can be controlled by the surgeon from the device itself. The system preferably accommodates the adjustment of multiple characteristics of the light source, such as light intensity, from the hand or wrist device. A periphery ribbon may also be used to control the direction of light sources. Applications of the invention y stretch to other fields such as construction or theater lighting.
Medical guidance device
This application provides a medical guidance device with an inertial measurement unit and a mechanical interface. This device can provide accurate and precise orientation of insertable medical tools is critical in surgical procedure, such as for placement of a needle-like instrument according to plan based on medical images (e.g., computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)) in percutaneous interventions.
