IMPLANTABLE DRUG ELUTING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
The present disclosure provides a system for injecting a drug eluting construct in a patient. The construct includes multiple cellular based microcaspules, wherein the multiple cellular based microcapsules create at least one of a plurality of layers or sections of microcapsules joined together to comprise an implant. There is a medicinal agent within the microcapsules. A syringe and needle inject the implant constructed of microcapsules into the patient at least one of during and after a surgical procedure. The medicinal agent controllably releases into the patient both immediately and at a delayed time.
Photo-activatable gel coated intracranial stent and embolic coil
An intracranial stent includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a tubular sidewall extending there between and a patch covering at least a portion of the sidewall; wherein the patch is capable of diverting blood flow past the neck of an intracranial aneurysm. The patch may be made of a photon-activatable material or a tightly woven metal material with a density greater than a density of the sidewall itself.
Applicator For Depositing A Layer Of Adhesive Or Sealant Composition On A Biological And/Or Prosthetic Tissue
Applicator for depositing a layer of adhesive or sealant composition on a target site of a biological and/or prosthetic tissue, the applicator including a body having an application face intended to be positioned facing the biological and/or prosthetic tissue, and having
a first outlet opening provided in the application face, the first outlet opening being shaped as a slot for allowing the adhesive or sealant composition to flow out of the applicator and to form the layer of adhesive or sealant composition,
a second inlet opening provided in the application face, adjacent the first outlet opening, for allowing pollutants or undesirable elements to be removed from the target site while depositing the layer of adhesive or sealant composition, wherein the first outlet opening has a first section and the second inlet opening has a second section, the second section being greater than the first section.
ADHESIVE-BASED ANCHORING FOR IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICES
A medical device delivery system contains an implantable medical device and a delivery device for delivering the implantable medical device to an implantation site within a body of a patient. The medical device delivery system contains a reservoir for accommodating an adhesive in a liquid state. The medical device delivery system is configured to discharge the liquid adhesive from the reservoir so as to bond the implantable medical device to tissue of the patient at the implantation site.
SURGICAL END EFFECTOR HAVING BUTTRESS RETENTION FEATURES
A piece of buttress material and an end-effector of a surgical instrument including features which can aid a surgeon in properly and quickly attaching the piece of buttress material to the end-effector. In various embodiments, a piece of buttress material can include retention features which can be engaged with portions of an end-effector to releasably retain the piece of buttress material to at least a portion of the end-effector. Similarly, an end-effector can include features configured to engage portions of a piece of buttress material to releasably retain the piece of buttress material to the end-effector. In at least one embodiment, more than one piece of buttress material can be releasably retained to an end-effector.
Adhesive occlusion systems
System and methods of delivering adhesive material are described for occluding target locations within a patient. The systems include a catheter configured to deliver adhesive to a target location and one or more of a light source to harden the adhesive, a retention structure to contain the adhesive prior to curing, a balloon to occupy a target location, and an open cell foam plug to occupy a target location.
Surgical delivery devices for meltable bone wax or bone putty
The present invention is directed to a device for delivering a sealant to a tissue, comprising a sealant compartment, a cooling gas compartment, and a heater, all disposed inside a unified housing; with heater configured for rendering the sealant liquid or semi-liquid or molten and flowable; with sealant compartment configured for expressing the sealant in a flowable form from device via an exit nozzle; with gas compartment configured for expressing a cooling gas via a gas expression port; with exit nozzle and gas expression port co-directed into the same direction.
SOLENOID OCCLUSION DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for delivery of a ferrofluid to a targeted treatment site, such as delivery of a ferroadhesive to a pathological fistula to occlude the fistula. A device includes a catheter having a lumen and a distal opening. A hollow solenoid is coupled to a distal section of the catheter, and a hollow core of the solenoid allows passage of a ferrofluid through the catheter and through the hollow core so that it may exit past the distal end of the hollow solenoid. The solenoid may be selectively actuated to maintain or control the position of the delivered ferrofluid.
POLY (IONIC LIQUID) COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR USE AS TISSUE ADHESIVES
The present invention relates to the discovery of methods of treating a wound in a subject in need thereof. In certain embodiments, the method comprises contacting the wound with a composition comprising gelatin methacrylate and choline acrylate, and then polymerizing the composition to form a polymerized composition having a plurality of choline acrylate functionalized gelatin methacrylate units.
