GASTRIC SIZING SYSTEMS INCLUDING INSTRUMENTS AND METHODS OF BARIATRIC SURGERY
Systems and methods for effecting bariatric procedures are disclosed. Each system includes an instrument, a control valve and, optionally, a suction controller. The instrument is in the form of an elongated, flexible member having a distal end portion arranged for anchoring the instrument in the patient's stomach and for enabling fluids to be removed from the patient's stomach. Suction is applied to the patient's stomach by the distal end portion of the instrument to drain gastric fluids and to bring adjacent portions of the patient's stomach into engagement with the instrument to provide a visually perceptible delineation line along which a portion of the stomach may be resected, sealed and tested.
APPARATUS FOR TREATING OBESITY
An apparatus for treating obesity in a human or animal mammal patient. The apparatus comprising a first volume filling device segment and a second volume filling device segment. The first and second volume filling device segments are adapted to be assembled into an implantable volume filling device of a controlled size. Each one of the first and second volume filling device segment comprises at least one interconnecting structure. The interconnecting structure of the second volume filling device segment is adapted to be formed fitted, such that the first and second volume filling device segment can be assembled into the volume filling device. The assembled volume filling device is adapted to be at least substantially invaginated by a stomach wall portion of a patient, with the outer surface of the device resting against the stomach wall, such that the volume of the food cavity is reduced in size.
Staple instrument comprising a firing path display
A surgical stapling system for stapling the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The stapling system comprises a housing, a shaft extending from the housing, and an end effector extending from the shaft. The end effector comprises a plurality of staples removably stored therein and, also, an anvil configured to deform the staples. The stapling system further comprises a firing mechanism configured to deploy the staples along a staple firing path longer than 60 mm, a camera configured to capture an image of the patient tissue, a display, and a controller configured to generate an image of the staple firing path, wherein the images are displayed on the display.
Method of hub communication, processing, display, and cloud analytics
A method of displaying an operational parameter of a surgical system is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a cloud computing system of the surgical system, first usage data, from a first subset of surgical hubs of the surgical system; receiving, by the cloud computing system, second usage data, from a second subset of surgical hubs of the surgical system; analyzing, by the cloud computing system, the first and the second usage data to correlate the first and the second usage data with surgical outcome data; determining, by the cloud computing system, based on the correlation, a recommended medical resource usage configuration; and displaying, on respective displays on the first and the second subset of surgical hubs, indications of the recommended medical resource usage configuration.

Hollow vector support multifunctional protection devices and systems for minimally invasive surgery are disclosed. In an embodiment, a hollow vector support multifunctional protection device includes a protective head, a pitching mechanism for the protective head, an inner cylinder, an axial movement mechanism for the inner cylinder, and a shell. The protective head includes a flap ring, a plurality of first rotating shafts, a plurality of flaps uniformly arranged on the flap ring through the first rotating shafts, and a torsion spring arranged on the first rotating shafts. The torsion spring is configured to provide a force for opening the plurality of flaps along the first rotating shafts, and the first rotating shafts are provided with limiting structures configured to limit a maximum opening degree of the flaps.
Retrieval systems and related methods
Drug delivery articles, resident articles, and retrieval systems e.g., for gram-level dosing, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the articles are configured for transesophageal administration, transesophageal retrieval, and/or gastric retention to/in a subject. In certain embodiments, the article includes dimensions configured for transesophageal administration with a gastric resident system. In some cases, the article may be configured to control drug release e.g., with zero-order drug kinetics with no potential for burst release for weeks to months. In some embodiments, the articles described herein comprise biocompatible materials and/or are safe for gastric retention. In certain embodiments, the article includes dimensions configured for transesophageal retrieval. In some cases, the articles described herein may comprise relatively large doses of drug (e.g., greater than or equal to 1 gram).
Systems and instruments for tissue sealing
Provided is a robotic system that includes a surgical instrument with a wrist including an elongate shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end, a wrist extending from the distal end of the elongate shaft, and an end effector extending from the wrist. The end effector may include a first jaw and a second jaw, the first and second jaw being moveable between an open position in which ends of the jaws are separated from each other, and a closed position in which the ends of the jaws are closer to each other as compared to the open position. The surgical instrument may also include at least one rotary cutter extending from the wrist and positioned at least partially within a recess formed in a face of the first jaw.
EXPANDABLE DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
This disclosure relates to the field of luminal surgery. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to medical devices that expand within a body lumen for accessing a target tissue. In an aspect, an expandable device for a body lumen may include a filament comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a length. The device may include a plurality of segments. Each segment may comprise a middle portion comprising a longitudinal axis extending axially therethrough, a projection portion extending from an end of the middle portion along the longitudinal axis, and a receptive portion extending from an opposing end of the middle portion away from the longitudinal axis, the receptive portion configured to receive the projection portion of an adjacent one of the plurality of segments. An aperture may be disposed through the projection portion, the middle portion, and the receptive portion.

Exemplary medical devices may include a snare device. The snare device may include a first leg having a proximalmost end and a second leg having a proximalmost end. The first leg and the second leg may form a distal loop. The proximalmost end of first leg may be independently moveable relative to the proximalmost end of the second leg.
Catheter with a double balloon structure to generate and apply an ablative zone to tissue
Ablation catheters and systems include coaxial catheter shafts with an inner lumen for delivering an ablative agent and an outer lumen for circulation of a cooling element about the catheter. Induction heating is used to heat a chamber and vaporize a fluid within by wrapping a coil about a ferromagnetic chamber and providing an alternating current to the coil. A magnetic field is created in the area surrounding the chamber which induces electric current flow in the chamber, heating the chamber and vaporizing the fluid inside. Positioning elements help maintain the device in the proper position with respect to the target tissue and also prevent the passage of ablative agent to normal tissues.
