Assemblies of one or more implant structures make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of the SI-joint and/or lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. The representative lumbar spine interventions, which can be performed on adults or children, include, but are not limited to, SI-joint fusion or fixation; lumbar interbody fusion; translaminar lumbar fusion; lumbar facet fusion; trans-iliac lumbar fusion; and the stabilization of a spondylolisthesis.

Disclosed is an implant intended to be introduced into a human or animal body cavity, and includes two walls intended to grip between them a biological protuberance present in the cavity in order to attach the implant to the biological protuberance. Each wall includes a structural element having corrugations such that the structural element is folded up on itself several times, enabling the wall to be folded up before the introduction of the implant, then deployed inside the cavity.

The present invention is directed to suturing systems having a needle, an elongated flexible suture having a connecting end attached to a said needle and an opposing free end and at least one elongated external beneficial filament that is attached to said needle or attached to said suture at the connecting end. Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.

The present invention provides fastener anchoring devices with protruding fasteners releasably attached to graspers for insertion into a target site such as soft tissue. The devices include a retaining mechanism that can be actuated to release the fasteners from the grasper. The devices can include support material preloaded onto the fasteners.

A product comprising a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment has first walls that define a reservoir. The first compartment includes a first lid enclosing a medicament within the reservoir. The second compartment has second walls that define a cavity. The invention is generally directed to a sterile surgical drape designed to provide a sterile barrier with a self-contained, expandable sterile pocket. The sterile surgical drape includes a pocket sized and shaped to accommodate the C-arm of an X-ray machine. The pocket spans the width of the operative site and includes an elastic band along a top edge to ensure that the pocket does not drop below the sterile field when not in use. In this way, the pocket is maintained around the C-arm and the sterile field is preserved during use. The surgical drape can optionally include an adhesive antimicrobial strip configured with an elongated length. A first responder device for treating blood flow from a deep wound or a bodily cavity having an inflatable balloon, a first chamber accommodating a liquid arranged for inflating the balloon, a second chamber accommodating a cooling agent capable of dissolving in the liquid when coming in contact therewith, thereby lowering the temperature, a rupturable seal between the first and second chambers, and a structure for forcing the liquid out of the first chamber into the inflatable balloon, and for rupturing the rupturable seal.

This device is a combination of an expandable or inflatable bladder or balloon in conjunction with a rigid or semi-rigid skin contact surface or structure to reduce bleeding from a skin insertion wound site and a vascular wound site after a vascular intervention or surgical procedure is performed. This invention also relates to a method that includes applying a loop or band around a body part for elastomeric ligation, whereby the band material supplies a topical active agent (s) to the body part to reduce the pain of ligation.
