The devices and methods of the present invention provide a means to depress the sclera in such a fashion as to provide single point, multiple point, semicircular or 360° circumferential scleral tissue depression without the need for manual manipulation of the scleral depressor. The device comprises a shaped depressor for insertion between the sclera and the orbit of the eye and a holding means for positioning the depressor. In some embodiments the device can be integrated with a speculum. Use of the device eliminates the need to have a second person manipulate the depressor during the procedure and directly enables bimanual surgery.

SURGICAL RETRACTOR TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPIC AND MINIMALLY-INVASIVE SURGERIES
20210321998 · 2021-10-21 ·

A surgical retractor tool includes an atraumatic device, and anchor, and a connector coupled at a first end to the atraumatic device and coupled at a second, opposite end to the anchor. The atraumatic device is transformable between a transition configuration, in which the atraumatic device is characterized by a substantially linear shape, and a deployed configuration, in which the atraumatic device is characterized by a non-linear shape. The non-linear shape is configured to releasably engage a first anatomical portion of a patient. The anchor is configured to be releasably secured to a second anatomical portion of the patient. In the transition configuration, the surgical retractor tool is characterized by a substantially linear shape defined along a longitudinal axis extending from an end of the anchor to an end of the atraumatic device.

Cutting guard with ground connection

A tissue guard for use with a surgical access device includes a proximal ring having proximal and distal ends, the distal end configured to operably couple to a ground ring that ultimately electrically connects to an electrical ground. One or more mechanical interfaces extend about the proximal ring and are configured to mechanically engage a rim of an access device to secure the tissue guard thereon. A retention body is configured to operably couple to a distal end of the ground ring, the retention body including a distal end configured to operably engage the access device to secure the tissue guard therein.

Tissue retraction device and delivery system

Medical devices and methods of using medical devices are disclosed. An example tissue retraction device includes a first engagement member having a first end and a second end, a second engagement member having a first end and a second end, a first elastic member attached to the second end of the first engagement member, and a first alignment member having a first end, a second end and a lumen extending therethrough. Further, the tissue retraction device has a first length, the first alignment member has a second length, the first elastic member extends within the lumen of the first alignment member and the second length of the first alignment member is less than or equal to the first length of the tissue retraction device.
