11807823 · 2023-11-07 · ·

The present invention provides a blended fuel and methods for producing the blended fuel, wherein a low carbon fuel derived from a renewable resource such as biomass, is blended with a traditional, petroleum derived fuel. A blended fuel which includes greater than 10% by volume of low carbon fuel has an overall improved lifecycle greenhouse gas content of about 5% or more compared to the petroleum derived fuel. Also, blending of the low carbon fuel to the traditional, petroleum fuel improves various engine performance characteristics of the traditional fuel.

COMBINED GASIFICATION AND STEAM METHANE REFORMATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Exemplary systems, processes, and methods for combining synthesis gas flows from more than one source or reactor, for example, gasification and biogas steam methane reformation, are provided. The exemplary systems, processes, and methods may be used to generate liquid fuels from farm waste.

The present disclosure refers to systems and methods for remediating a produced water from an oil or gas well. A representative process may comprise optionally purifying and then electrolyzing the produced water to produce at least hydrogen and oxygen; storing, selling, releasing, or converting oxygen to a useful oxygen product; and storing, selling, releasing, or converting hydrogen to a useful hydrogen product and to produce fresh water for beneficial reuse. Alternatively or additionally, the optionally purified produced water may be subjected to steam reformation with methane to produce carbon dioxide and hydrogen which can be used as desired.

PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING FUEL
20230374394 · 2023-11-23 ·

A process and/or system for producing fuel using renewable hydrogen having a reduced carbon intensity. The renewable hydrogen is produced in a hydrogen production process comprising methane reforming, wherein at least a portion of the feedstock for the hydrogen production process comprises upgraded biogas sourced from a plurality of biogas plants. Each of the upgraded biogases is produced in a process that includes collecting biogas comprising methane and carbon dioxide, capturing at least 50% of the carbon dioxide originally present in the collected biogas and producing the upgraded biogas. Storage of the captured carbon dioxide reducing a carbon intensity of the fuel, without having to provide carbon capture and storage of carbon dioxide from hydrogen production.

Method of integrating a fuel cell with a steam methane reformer

A method of integrating a fuel cell with a steam methane reformer is provided. The system includes at least one fuel cell including an anode and a cathode, and a steam methane reformer including a syngas stream, and a flue gas stream. The method includes introducing at least a portion of the flue gas stream to the cathode, thereby producing a CO2 depleted flue gas stream and introducing a hydrocarbon containing stream to the anode, thereby producing an electrical energy output and a carbon dioxide and hydrogen containing stream from the fuel cell.

RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY CONVERSION OF LIQUID FUELS FROM HYDROCARBON FEEDSTOCKS
20220325186 · 2022-10-13 · ·

The present invention includes a method for converting renewable energy source electricity and a hydrocarbon feedstock into a liquid fuel by providing a source of renewable electrical energy in communication with a synthesis gas generation unit and an air separation unit. Oxygen from the air separation unit and a hydrocarbon feedstock is provided to the synthesis gas generation unit, thereby causing partial oxidation reactions in the synthesis gas generation unit in a process that converts the hydrocarbon feedstock into synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is then converted into a liquid fuel.

ON DEMAND SYNTHESIS GAS FROM METHANOL

A reactor system and a process for carrying out the methanol cracking and reverse water gas shift reaction of a feedstock comprising methanol to synthesis gas are provided, where the heat for the endothermic methanol cracking and reverse water gas shift reaction is provided by resistance heating.
