A plunger assembly comprises a plunger at an inferior end that translates within the dig tube. The tool ergonomically removes a soil core that is larger than the diameter of the tree nut, delivers the nut from an ergonomic height to a proper depth for germination; and replaces the soil core, covering the tree nut.
