METHOD FOR PRODUCTION POLYHYDROXYBUTYRIC ACID RESIN
In one or more embodiments, the present invention relates to a method for producing a polyhydroxybutyrate-based resin. The method includes (a) disrupting or solubilizing microbial cells containing a polyhydroxybutyrate-based resin, and (b) separating the polyhydroxybutyrate-based resin from a composition obtained by the process (a). The process (a) and the process (b) use water with a calcium ion concentration (14.5 mg/L or less. The water used in the process (a) and the process (b) is preferably obtained by subjecting wastewater that is discharged from the production process of the polyhydroxybutyrate-based resin to microbial anaerobic and aerobic treatments, subsequently pre-filtration by a membrane bioreactor process, and further filtration with a calcium ion removal membrane This method provides the polyhydroxybutyrate-based resin with good color tone and high thermal stability.
MULTISTAGE GREYWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A multistage greywater treatment system including at least one separation stage, at least one solid removal stage, and at least one disinfection stage. The at least one separation stage is configured to separate water from one or more water draining device into at least three outputs including a first intermediate greywater. The at least one solid removal stage is configured to receive the first intermediate greywater and dissolve solids from the first intermediate greywater to output a second intermediate greywater. The at least one disinfection stage is configured to receive the second intermediate greywater. The resultant greywater may be provided to at least one recycled water consuming device after passing through the at least one separation stage, at least one solid removal stage, and the at least one disinfection stage.
Carbon nanotube laminates
Compositions made of laminate comprised of porous carbon nanotube (CNT) are disclosed. Uses of the Compositions, particularly for reducing a formation of a load of a microorganism or of a biofilm, are also disclosed.
Method and system for treating saltwater containing volatile compounds
A method and system for treating and purifying saltwater contaminated by volatile compounds. The saltwater is evaporated resulting in a gas composed of water vapor and gaseous volatile compounds. The gas is condensed into a condensate containing the contaminated volatile compounds which is biologically treated to remove the volatile compounds thereby producing purified water. The latent heat released by condensing is used to evaporate the purified water into the atmosphere in an energy efficient manner.
Systems and methods for removing ammonia from an ammonia-containing liquid
A system and method for removing ammonia from an ammonia-containing liquid is described. The system comprises a primary heat exchanger 12 for heating the ammonia-containing liquid to operational temperature, an ammonia stripper 14 for stripping ammonia from the ammonia-containing liquid from the primary heat exchanger and discharging it as ammonia-containing gas, and an acid scrubber 16 for reacting the ammonia in the ammonia-containing gas with acid to form an ammonium salt. The acid scrubber comprises a scrubbed air outlet 32 in fluid communication with a hot air inlet 20 of the ammonia stripper, such that scrubbed air which is discharged from the acid scrubber may be recycled for use in the ammonia stripper. Also described is a system and method for removing ammonia from an ammonia-containing liquid, wherein the system comprises a cold-water scrubber for removing ammonia from the ammonia-containing gas discharged from the ammonia stripper.
Water treatment control system
A water treatment control system includes an aerobic tank in which aerobic treatment is carried out, an aerobic tank aeration device that aerates to-be-treated water in the aerobic tank, a membrane filtration tank including a separation membrane that filters the to-be-treated water treated in the aerobic tank, a membrane filtration tank measurement instrument that measures the ammonia concentration of the to-be-treated water in the membrane filtration tank, as a membrane filtration tank ammonia concentration measurement value, and an aerobic tank aeration air volume calculation device that sets the aerobic tank aeration air volume of the aerobic tank aeration device on the basis of the membrane filtration tank ammonia concentration measurement value.
Method for Treating Wastewater
The present invention relates to a method for treating wastewater containing a furan compound, a microbial preparation for use in the method, a method for high density culture of a microorganism for use in the above method, and a method for producing a microbial preparation by using the culture method.
DISTRIBUTED WASTEWATER COLLECTION, TREATMENT AND REUSE SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED, INTELLIGENT WILDFIRE DEFENSE
An intelligent sewage system designed for use in municipalities around the Wildland Urban Interface incorporates a decentralized network of wastewater treatment units to process wastewater from a plurality of parcels. The decentralized wastewater treatment units spread a Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) reduction of the wastewater throughout the system and effluent is delivered efficiently through a pressure sewage system. Non-potable and potable water supplies are generated and delivered to individually separable water distribution zones throughout the municipality. The system also provides an auxiliary high-pressure, high-flow non-potable water supply to compensate during depressurization events and bolster the water distribution zones in the event of a wildfire emergency event. The intelligent sewage system also incorporates a comprehensive wildfire defense network and a supervisory control and data acquisition system which work in concert to harden the municipality against wildfire risks and combat active wildfires.
BIOREACTOR INSERT AND BIOFILM SUPPORT, RELATED APPARATUS AND RELATED METHODS
The disclosure relates to bioreactors, for example for biological treatment and, more specifically to bioreactor insert apparatus including biofilms and related methods. The bioreactor insert apparatus provides a means for circulation of reaction medium within the bioreactor, a biofilm support, and biological treatment of an inlet feed to die reactor/insert apparatus. The bioreactor insert apparatus has a high relative surface area for biofilm attachment and is capable of generating complex flow patterns and increasing treatment efficiency/biological conversion activity in a biologically-active reactor. The high surface area structure incorporates multiple biofilm support structures such as meshes at inlet and outlet portions of the structure. The biofilm support structures and biofilms thereon can increase overall reaction rate of the bioreactor and/or perform some solid/liquid separation in the treatment of the wastewater or other influent.
