An attachment mechanism for a rotating surgical tool includes a mounting body defining a tool passage therein and configured for connection to a non-rotational component of the surgical tool, such that the tool passage is concentric about a rotational component of the surgical tool. The attachment mechanism further includes a ring arranged around the tool passage and rotatably connected to the mounting body. A mounting arm is attached to the ring such that rotation of the ring relative to the mounting body sets a desired circumferential position of the mounting arm relative to the tool passage, the mounting arm being configured to receive a tracking system emitter. An engagement mechanism is operable between the ring and the mounting body to maintain the desired circumferential position of the mounting arm.

GUIDING DEVICE AND ULTRASOUND DEVICE SYSTEM

A guiding device includes: a guide having a tubular shape. The guide can include a first through hole for insertion of an ultrasound probe. The guide can be configured to guide movement of the ultrasound probe inserted through the first through hole. A protrusion can protrude from one end of the guide and can have a sectional shape that corresponds to a sectional shape of the distal portion of the ultrasound probe, the sectional shape of the protrusion being orthogonal to an axis of the first through hole, and the sectional shape of the distal portion of the ultrasound probe being orthogonal to the axis of the first through hole.

GUIDING DEVICE AND BONE-TUNNEL FORMING METHOD

A guiding device can include a guide including a through hole for insertion of an ultrasound probe that forms a tunnel to a bone. The guide can be configured to guide movement of the ultrasound probe inserted through the through hole; an offset portion offset from an axis of the through hole. The guiding device can also include an offset portion with an abutment portion configured to abut to an outer wall of the bone, on a side on which the through hole is located, in a direction orthogonal to the axis and a bone-tunnel introduction portion provided on an opposite side to the side on which the through hole is located and being configured to be inserted into the tunnel. The bone-tunnel introduction portion can have a sectional polygon shape smaller than a polygon on an inner circumferential face of the through hole.

BONE CUTTER AND SOFT TISSUE PROTECTOR

A bone cutting system includes an elongated surgical bone cutting tool having a first extremity for fixing the bone cutting tool to a cutting robot or machinery and a second extremity opposite thereto at the end of the elongated surgical bone cutting tool. The protection system comprises a protection element attachable to the elongated bone cutting tool. The protection element includes an interposing portion covering, when the protection element is attached to the elongated cutting tool, at least the second extremity of the elongated cutting tool, so that the interposing portion is being interposed between the soft tissue and the bone cutting tool during cutting with the elongated cutting tool, for preventing the bone cutting tool from cutting into the soft tissue. During cutting with the bone cutting tool, the protection element follows in congruence with the bone cutting tool.

Intraosseous needle sets

An intraosseous needle set is provided for penetrating a target area. The intraosseous needle set includes a cannula having a first end, a second end, and a bore. The bore may accommodate an intraosseous device, such that the intraosseous device and the cannula are operable to penetrate the target area. The bore has a length extending from the second end of the cannula through the first end of the cannula. The bore has a first cross-section with a substantially constant diameter along a majority of the length and extends from the second end of the cannula toward the first end of the cannula. The bore has a second cross-section along a minority of the length and extends from the first end of the cannula toward the second end of the cannula. The second cross-section may have a different shape than the first cross-section.

Minimally invasive surgical drill guide and method

A minimally invasive surgical drill guide includes an elongated drill jig having at least one drill guide opening for defining a location and drill element guide axis for placement of a surgical drill element. The drill jig can have an engagement end with engagement structure. A positioning arm includes an elongated shaft with an axis and a locating end portion shaped to engage a bony part of a patient. The elongated shaft can have engagement structure for engaging to the engagement structure of the drill jig to support the drill jig crosswise relative to the position arm and to support the drill guide opening of the drill jig at a location remote from the axis of the elongated shaft of the positioning arm. The drill jig can be detachable from the positioning arm. A method for minimally invasive surgical drilling is also disclosed.

Osteotome guide
