Coupled Transmission Line Resonate RF Filter
The present invention includes a method of creating electrical air gap low loss low cost RF mechanically and thermally stabilized interdigitated resonate filter in photo definable glass ceramic substrate. Where a ground plane may be used to adjacent to or below the RF filter in order to prevent parasitic electronic signals, RF signals, differential voltage build up and floating grounds from disrupting and degrading the performance of isolated electronic devices by the fabrication of electrical isolation and ground plane structures on a photo-definable glass substrate.
Solar Control Coatings With Quadruple Metallic Layers
A coated article includes a substrate, a first dielectric layer, a first metallic layer, a second dielectric layer, a second metallic layer, a third dielectric layer, a third metallic layer, a fourth dielectric layer, a fourth metallic layer and a fifth dielectric layer. At least one of the metallic layers is a discontinuous metallic layer having discontinuous metallic regions. An optional primer is positioned over any one of the metallic layers. Optionally a protective layer is provided as the outer most layer over the fifth dielectric layer.
Process for obtaining a substrate provided with a coating
A process for obtaining a substrate provided with a coating, in which the coating includes a pattern with spatial modulation of at least one property of the coating, includes performing a heat treatment, using a laser radiation, of a continuous coating deposited on the substrate. The heat treatment is such that the substrate is irradiated with the laser radiation focused on the coating in the form of at least one laser line, keeping the coating continuous and without melting of the coating, and a relative displacement of the substrate and of the laser line focused on the coating is imposed in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the laser line, while temporally modulating during this relative displacement the power of the laser line as a function of the speed of relative displacement and of the dimensions of the pattern in the direction of relative displacement.
Low emissivity coating for windows in cold climates
A low emissivity coating 30 includes a plurality of phase adjustment layers 40, 50, 62; a first metal functional layer 46; and a second metal functional layer 58 located over and spaced from the first metal functional layer 46. A ratio of the geometric thickness of the first metal functional layer divided by the geometric thickness of the second metal functional layer is in the range of 0.6 to 1. The low emissivity coating 30 provides a reference IGU summer/day SHGC of at least 0.4 and a reference IGU winter/night U factor of no greater than 0.4 BTU/hr-ft.sup.2- F. (2.27 W/m2-K).
Methods for working and sensing synthetic quartz glass substrate
A synthetic quartz glass substrate having front and back surfaces is worked by lapping, etching, mirror polishing, and cleaning steps for thereby polishing the front surface of the substrate to a mirror-like surface. The etching step is carried out using a hydrofluoric acid solution at pH 4-7.
Flash Annealing of Silver Coatings
Methods of processing coated articles, such as transparencies, are provided comprising flash annealing one or more layers of the coated article. The one or more layers may be reflective metallic layers, such as silver layers, or comprise a transparent conductive oxide, such as indium tin oxide, or a semiconductor.

The present invention relates to a nano bi-material, electromagnetic spectrum shifter based on said nano bi-material and method to produce said electromagnetic spectrum shifter using said nano bi-material. In particular, the present invention provides nano bi-material based electromagnetic spectrum shifter, e.g. color filters, with a wide range of transmission and color tunability and methods to produce said color filters. The present invention has applications in color filtration and production of color filters; reflector and production of reflectors; and electromagnetic spectrum shifter and production of electromagnetic spectrum shifters.
Interior Coatings for Glass Structures in Electronic Devices
An electronic device may include electrical components and other components mounted within a housing. The device may have a display on a front face of the device and may have a glass layer that forms part of the housing on a rear face of the device. The glass layer and other glass structures in the electronic device may be provided with coatings. An interior coating on a glass layer may include multiple layers of material such as an adhesion promotion layer, thin-film layers of materials such as silicon, niobium oxide and other metal oxides, and metals to help adjust the appearance of the coating. A metal layer may be formed on top of the coating to serve as an environmental protection layer and opacity enhancement layer. In some configurations, the coating may include four layers.
