Complex Retroreflective Bead
20220283342 · 2022-09-08 · ·

A retroreflective composite bead for highway marking having high retroreflectivity both when initially installed and over the bead lifetime, allowing vehicle drivers to see highway marking lines at night and in adverse conditions during nighttime. When installed the retroreflective beads essentially retroreflect the base color of the highway marking material in which the retroreflective beads are embedded. The beads comprise a larger bead with a coating of smaller particles heat bonded to its surface.

A composite conductive substrate according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure includes: an insulating layer; a metal nanowire structure embedded beneath one surface of the insulating layer; and a metal thin film coupled to the metal nanowire structure. The composite conductive substrate may be fabricated in an order of the insulating film, the metal nanowire structure, and the metal thin film, or vice versa.

ANTIREFLECTIVE NANOPARTICLE COATINGS AND METHODS OF FABRICATION

Antireflective nanoparticle coatings and methods of forming the coatings on substrates are disclosed. One method for forming an antireflective coating includes depositing a nanoparticle coating layer on a substrate, wherein the nanoparticle coating layer includes a colloidal solution of nanoparticles and a solidifying material. The solidifying material includes a silica precursor. The method further includes curing the solidifying material to form silica inter-particle connections between adjacent nanoparticles and between at least some of the nanoparticles and the substrate to bind the nanoparticles to each other and to the substrate to form the antireflective coating.

Reduced reflection glass articles and methods for making and using same

Described herein are various articles that have anti-reflection properties, along with methods for their manufacture and use. The anti-reflection properties are imparted by way of an integral anti-reflection component on a surface of the articles. The articles exhibit a specular reflectance that is less than or equal to about 85 percent of a specular reflectance of the glass substrate alone when measured at wavelengths of about 450 nanometers to about 750 nanometers. The article may also exhibit a specular reflectance of less than 4 percent across the same spectrum.
