Laryngoscope blade and method for producing a laryngoscope blade
A method for producing a laryngoscope blade and a laryngoscope blade including a base blade and a tube which is arranged at least in part on an outer face of the base blade, extends approximately in a longitudinal direction of the base blade and is firmly connected to the base blade, wherein the tube, at its side facing toward the base blade, has at least in part a longitudinally extending corrugation which, with the outer face of the base blade, forms a longitudinally extending cavity, wherein the tube is connected to the base blade by a respective soldering seam in the lateral edge regions of the corrugation.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TRANS-BRONCHIAL AIRWAY BYPASS
Endobronchial methods, devices and systems for treating emphysema by creating an airway bypass in a patient's airway including a longitudinal fenestration held open by an airway expander.
Determining balloon catheter contact with anatomy using ultrasound
A medical system includes a shaft, an inflatable balloon, a radial array of ultrasound transducers and a processor. The shaft is configured for insertion into a body of a patient. The inflatable balloon is coupled to a distal end of the shaft and configured to perform a treatment to surrounding anatomy. The ultrasound transducers are distributed circumferentially around the distal end of the shaft inside the balloon, and configured to transmit ultrasound waves at respective radial directions and receive respective ultrasound reflections. The processor is configured to estimate and output to a user, based on the ultrasound reflections received from the ultrasound transducers, an extent of mechanical contact between the balloon and the surrounding anatomy.
APPARATUS TO PROVIDE AN ADJUSTABLE MECHANISM FOR RADIAL ULTRASOUND PORT AND FLUSH PORT
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to an assembly with an adjustable ultrasound port and flush port for lateral and axial positioning of a radial ultrasound probe within a patient.
Medical imaging devices, systems, and methods
The present disclosure relates generally to medical imaging devices, such as a real-time visualization and diagnostic and/or therapeutic tool assembly, which may include an ergonomic handle and catheter configured for dual-function use during a medical procedure. By way of non-limiting example, the medical device may be configured for use with a probe, such as one disposed at the distal end of the catheter, and delivered within a bronchoscope working channel to provide real-time visualization (e.g., radial ultrasound imaging) and manipulation (e.g., diagnostic biopsy sampling) of pulmonary nodules in peripheral regions of the lung. As disclosed herein, in various embodiments, one or more components of the medical imaging device may be configured to position a catheter with a first tool/instrument (e.g., a biopsy needle) within a peripheral region of the lung while maintaining real-time visualization of the pulmonary nodule (e.g., with a second tool/instrument, such as a radial ultrasound probe).
DEVICES TO ACCESS PERIPHERAL REGIONS OF THE LUNG FOR DIRECT VISUALIZATION WITH TOOL ATTACHMENT
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to modular assemblies, systems and methods for direct visualization and biopsy of peripheral pulmonary nodules. In one example, a modular assembly of the present disclosure may include a dual-lumen catheter attached to a distal end of a main body, a first lumen may extend through the main body, the first lumen contiguous with a first lumen of the dual-lumen catheter, a second lumen may extend through the main body, the second lumen contiguous with a second lumen of the dual-lumen catheter and an attachment member formed within the main body at a proximal end of the second lumen.
High resistance implanted bronchial isolation devices and methods
Disclosed are methods and devices for regulating fluid flow to and from a region of a patient's lung, such as to achieve a desired fluid flow dynamic to a lung region during respiration and/or to induce collapse in one or more lung regions. Pursuant to an exemplary procedure, an identified region of the lung is targeted for treatment. The targeted lung region is then bronchially isolated to regulate airflow into and/or out of the targeted lung region through one or more bronchial passageways that feed air to the targeted lung region. An exemplary flow control device is configured to block fluid flow in the inspiratory direction and the expiratory direction at normal breathing pressures and allow fluid flow in the expiratory direction at coughing pressures.
VAPOR ABLATION TREATMENT OF OBSTRUCTIVE LUNG DISEASE
A treatment of obstructive lung disease includes aiming a condensable vapor towards the airway wall, causing a band-shaped lesion to grow to a depth into the airway wall. Ablation parameters are set to control the depth of the band-shaped lesion to encompass the epithelial layer and exclude the smooth muscle layer of the airway. A wide variety of configurations of the vapor delivery are described to create ablation patterns in the airways of the patient with particular emphasis on treating chronic bronchitis.
NAVIGABLE ENDOBRONCHIAL TOOL TO ACCESS TISSUE OUTSIDE A BRONCHUS
Methods, systems, and devices for accessing tissue outside a bronchus and marking the location of a biopsy are provided. The method includes loading a navigation plan into a navigation system with the navigation plan including a CT volume generated from a plurality of CT images, inserting an extended working channel (EWC) including a location sensor into a patient's airways, registering a sensed location of the EWC with the CT volume of the navigation plan, and selecting a target in the navigation plan located outside the periphery of a patient's airways. The method further includes navigating the EWC and location sensor proximate the target, inserting a piercing catheter into the EWC, piercing through an airway wall to reach the target, storing a position of the location sensor in the navigation system as a biopsy location, and performing a biopsy at the stored biopsy location.
Genetically-Associated Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Treatment
A system for treating a genetically associated chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The system includes a coil implant, wherein the coil implant is configured to increase tension of a lung having alveolar damage caused by a genetic disorder and thereby improve breathing function of the lung. The system includes a delivery system configured to deliver the coil implant into an airway of the lung, wherein the delivery system comprises a cartridge configured to retain the coil implant in a straight configuration. The coil implant is configured to recover to a non-straight, pre-determined shape upon deployment within the airway the lung of the patient.
