IONIC CONDUCTORS
A solid ionic conducting material for use in an electrochemical device comprises an oxyhydroxide or hydrated oxide derived from of an oxide with a perovskite, Brownmillerite, layered oxide, and/or K.sub.4CdCl.sub.6 structure, the elemental composition of the initial oxide being selected to provide suitable conduction properties for the derived anhydrous or hydrated oxyhydroxide or hydrated oxide. A method of making such a solid ionic conducting material, including treatment with water, and an electrochemical device incorporating such a solid ionic conducting material (optionally as an electrolyte) are also disclosed.
Materials for ammonia synthesis
Disclosed herein are doped perovskite oxides. The doped perovskite oxides may be used as a cathode material in an electrochemical cell to electrochemically generate ammonia from N.sub.2. The doped perovskite oxides may be combined with nitride compounds, for instance iron nitride, to further increase the efficiency of the ammonia production.
BROWNMILLERITE-BASED POLYCRYSTALLINE FUSED PRODUCT
A polycrystalline fused product based on brownmillerite, includes, for more than 95% of its weight, of the elements Ca, Sr, Fe, O, M and M′, the contents of the elements being defined by the formula X.sub.yM.sub.zFe.sub.tM′.sub.uO.sub.2.5, wherein the atomic indices are such that 0.76≤y≤1.10, z≤0.21, 0.48≤t≤1.15 and u≤0.52, 0.95≤y+z≤1.10, and 0.95≤t+u≤1.10, X being Ca or Sr or a mixture of Ca and Sr, M being an element chosen from the group formed by La, Ba and mixtures thereof, M′ being an element chosen from the group formed by Ti, Cu, Gd, Mn, Al, Sc, Ga, Mg, Ni, Zn, Pr, In, Co, and mixtures thereof, the sum of the atomic indices of Ti and Cu being less than or equal to 0.1.
FERRITE COMPOSITION AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
A ferrite composition comprises a main component and a subcomponent. The main component includes 32.0 to 46.4 mol % of iron oxide in terms of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, 4.4 to 14.0 mol % of copper oxide in terms of CuO, and 8.4 to 56.9 mol % of zinc oxide in terms of ZnO. The subcomponent includes 0.53 to 11.00 parts by weight of a silicon compound in terms of SiO.sub.2, 0.1 to 12.8 parts by weight of a tin compound in terms of SnO.sub.2, and 0.5 to 7.0 parts by weight of a bismuth compound in terms of Bi.sub.2O.sub.3, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the main component.
Ferrite sintered magnet
There is provided a ferrite sintered magnet having a high residual magnetic flux density. A ferrite sintered magnet 2 includes a plurality of main phase particles 5 including ferrite having a hexagonal structure, the number of core-shell structured particles 5A having a core 7 and a shell 9 covering the core 7, among the main phase particles 5, is smaller than the number of the main phase particles 5 other than the core-shell structured particles 5A.
MAGNETIC COMPOSITES, METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME, AND ANTENNA DEVICE COMPRISING THE MAGNETIC COMPOSITES
A magnetic composite includes a polymeric substrate and a magnetic material including a Z-type phase and represented by the following Chemical Formula:

Method for producing sintered ferrite magnet, and sintered ferrite magnet
A sintered ferrite magnet comprising (a) a ferrite phase having a hexagonal M-type magnetoplumbite structure comprising Ca, an element R which is at least one of rare earth elements and indispensably includes La, an element A which is Ba and/or Sr, Fe, and Co as indispensable elements, the composition of metal elements of Ca, R, A, Fe and Co being represented by the general formula of Ca.sub.1-x-yR.sub.xA.sub.yFe.sub.2n-zCo.sub.z, wherein the atomic ratios (1-x-y), x, y and z of these elements and the molar ratio n meet the relations of 0.3≦(1-x-y)≦0.65, 0.2≦x≦0.65, 0≦y≦0.2, 0.03≦z≦0.65, and 4≦n≦7, and (b) a grain boundary phase indispensably containing Si, the amount of Si being more than 1% by mass and 1.8% or less by mass (calculated as SiO.sub.2) based on the entire sintered ferrite magnet, and its production method.
Oxide ceramic and ceramic electronic component
An oxide ceramic having a principal component formed of a ferrite compound containing at least Sr, Co, and Fe, and zirconium in an amount of 0.05 to 1.0 wt. % on an oxide equivalent basis, and a ceramic electronic component using the oxide ceramic.
Increased resonant frequency alkali-doped Y-phase hexagonal ferrites
Disclosed herein are embodiments of an enhanced resonant frequency hexagonal ferrite material, such as Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, and methods of manufacturing. In some embodiments, sodium or potassium can be added into the crystal structure of the hexagonal ferrite material in order to achieve improved resonant frequencies in the range of 500 MHz to 1 GHz useful for radiofrequency applications.
FERRITE SINTERED MAGNET, FERRITE PARTICLES, BONDED MAGNET, AND ROTATING ELECTRICAL MACHINE
A ferrite sintered magnet has a ferrite phase having a magnetoplumbite-type crystal structure, and contains at least a metal element A, a metal element R, Fe, Co, Zn, and B. The element A is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Sr, Ba, Ca, and Pb, and essentially includes Ca. The element R is at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Bi and rare-earth elements including Y, and essentially includes La. Atomic ratios of the metal elements satisfy the following expressions.

The content of Si is 0 to 0.60% by mass in terms of SiO.sub.2, and the content of B is 0.01 to 0.70% by mass in terms of B.sub.2O.sub.3.
