A moldable green-body composite includes milling silicon nitride powder with a solvent and adding a surface modifier to the milled slurry to modify a surface of the silicon nitride particles. A polysiloxane in a solvent and a binder are also added to create a green body slurry. The solvents may be polar or non-polar solvents. A sintering aid, such as yttria-alumina, may be added to the slurry as well. A reduced density silicon nitride ceramic is made from the moldable green-body composite by molding the moldable green-body composite in a mold and curing at a curing temperature to convert the moldable green-body composite to a converted composite. The converted composite can then be sintered to form a reduced density silicon nitride ceramic that has a smooth surface finish and requires no post machining or polishing. The reduced density silicon nitride ceramic may also have very good dielectric properties.

A ceramic green sheet including a plurality of substrate forming regions. A barcode or a two-dimensional code is drawn in a portion of the ceramic green sheet. The barcode or the two-dimensional code is obtained by encoding one or more of the following information. Information relating to raw materials used when the ceramic green sheet is produced, information relating to molding conditions of the ceramic green sheet, information relating to a release agent used when a plurality of the ceramic green sheets are stacked, or a serial number.

Core body for transfer apparatus

A core body includes a structure having a plurality of connected unit cells. At least one unit cell has one or more sidewalls that are curved and define a portion of an inner passageway within and through the unit cell. The one or more sidewalls define multiple orifices and include a cone disposed between at least some of the orifices. A dimple is defined along an outer surface of the unit cell at the cone. The outer surface at least partially defines an outer passageway that is sealed from the inner passageway by the one or more sidewalls. The one or more sidewalls are configured to transport one or more of thermal energy from a first fluid or a component of the first fluid flowing in the inner passageway to a second fluid flowing in the outer passageway without the first fluid mixing with the second fluid.
