A device for manipulating an implant includes a handle coupled to a guide extending from the handle to a distal end. The device includes an engagement mechanism disposed at the distal end of the guide and configured to engage an implant. The device includes a first actuator disposed on the handle and coupled to the engagement mechanism. The first actuator causes the engagement mechanism to engage the implant. The device includes an air chamber disposed in an interior chamber of the handle and configured to hold air. The device includes a lumen coupled to the air chamber and extending along the guide to the distal end. The lumen includes an air channel extending through the lumen. The device includes a second actuator disposed on the handle. The second actuator causes the air chamber to deliver the air, via the air channel, to the distal end.

Ophthalmic forceps include: a tubular body; a pair of neck portions; a pair of slit formation portions provided on a tip end side of the neck portions; a pair of gripping portions provided on a tip end side of the slit formation portions; and substantially S-shaped portions formed at portions extending from the neck portions to the slit formation portions. When the tubular body slides to house an entirety of the neck portions in an inner cavity of the tubular body, gripping surfaces of the gripping portions are in surface contact with each other, and a slit is formed between the pair of slit formation portions.

A medical instrument with excellent operability is provided. The medical instrument includes stick-shaped extra-narrow metal members. The extra-narrow member has a hardened layer formed on the surface thereof without losing flexibility.

ENDOSCOPIC GRABBER WITH CAMERA AND DISPLAY

An endoscopic grabber includes a proximal housing, a distal assembly, a flexible shaft extending between the proximal housing and the distal assembly, a flexible member within the flexible shaft having a distal end portion connected to the distal assembly and a proximal end portion connected to the proximal housing, and a camera within the distal assembly. A distal end portion of the flexible member is movably disposed within the distal assembly. A proximal end portion of the flexible member is connected to an actuator within the proximal housing. Actuation of the proximal end portion moves the distal end portion of the flexible member such that one or more elongate arms extending from the distal end portion deforms to form part of a grabber. The camera is configured to capture an image including a tip portion of the elongate arm. The elongate arms are configured to grab a target object.

RETRIEVAL DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS OF USE

A retrieval device may include a sheath including a distal end and a proximal end, and an end effector at the distal end. At least a portion of the end effector may be movable relative to the sheath between extended and retracted states. The end effector may include a support member extending from the distal end of the sheath, and a movable member extending from the distal end of the support member. The device may include a handle assembly at the proximal end of the sheath, having an actuation member for transitioning the end effector between the extended and retracted states. The device may include a biasing member coupled to at least one of the actuation member and the sheath that may control a force, exerted by one of the movable members and the support member on the other, generated by relative movement between the movable and support members.

SURGICAL MULTI-TOOL AND METHOD OF USE

Surgical tool are disclosed that include a first tip and a second tip. The first tip and the second tip can have a first configuration, an intermediate configuration, and a second configuration. In the first configuration the tool operates as forceps and in the second configuration the tool operates as scissors. In the intermediate configuration the tool operates as a probe. The tips can be brought together to transition between the first configuration and the intermediate configuration. The tips can be rotated to transition between the intermediate configuration and the second configuration. Method are disclosed that include the step of providing a tool having a first tip extending distally and a second tip extending distally, moving at least one of the first tip and the second tip toward the other of the first tip and the second tip, and rotating the first tip and the second tip.

ACTUATION MECHANISM WITH GROOVED ACTUATION LEVERS

Particular embodiments disclosed herein provide a surgical instrument comprising a device having a proximal end and a functional end configured to be inserted into a body part, an assembly having a proximal end and a distal end, a shaft coupled to the proximal end of the assembly, the shaft having a shaft housing, a bearing positioned around the assembly, wherein the bearing is configured to slide over the assembly, a hub having a sleeve tube. The basket comprises a plurality of grooved levers, each grooved lever having a proximal end received by the shaft housing and a distal end coupled to a tip of the basket, wherein compressing one or more of the plurality of grooved levers moves the bearing and the hub relative to the shaft and toward the functional end of the device, causing the sleeve tube to transition the device from the deactivated state to an activated state.

Implant removal devices and methods

An implant removal device includes a body, a first arm, a second arm, an actuation interface, and an extraction member. The first arm is supported at the body and configured to move relative to the body between a retracted position and a skin gripping position. The second arm is supported at the body and configured to move relative to the body between the retracted position and the skin gripping position. The actuation interface is supported at the body. The actuation interface is configured to receive a first actuation input thereat to cause at least one of the first arm and the second arm to move from the skin gripping position to the retracted position. The extraction member is supported at the body and located between the first arm and the second arm.

Mechatronic forceps

A mechatronic device includes two arms extending from a base in a first direction and shaped to be handheld by an operator, the two arms having free ends forming a gripper and arranged to move closer together by rotation from a rest position to an active position, a motor housed in the base, an actuator mounted between the arms, and a means for controlling said actuator, the actuator connected to the motor so as to be driven in movement in translation in the first direction. The actuator also has a first contact surface that forms a cam with a respective second contact surface on each arm, the first contact surface remaining engaged with the second contact surface. The control means controls the movement in translation of the actuator to produce a movement in rotation of the arms that applies a chosen force of the gripper in its active position.
