An object shaping method includes a step of forming a powder layer using first powder, a step of placing second powder having an average particle diameter smaller than an average particle diameter of the first powder at a part of a region of the powder layer, and a first heating step of heating the powder layer in which the second powder is placed. The average particle diameter is equal to or larger than 1 nm and equal to or smaller than 500 nm, and the first heating step performs heating the powder layer at a temperature at which particles contained in the second powder are sintered or melted.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SYNTHESIS OF SPHEROIDIZED METAL POWDERS
Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems and method for processing feedstock materials using microwave plasma processing. Specifically, the feedstock materials disclosed herein pertain to metal powders. Microwave plasma processing can be used to spheroidize the metal powders and form metal nitride or metal carbide powders. The stoichiometry of the metal nitride or metal carbide powders can be controlled by changing the composition of the plasma gas and the residence time of the feedstock materials during plasma processing.
PROCESSES FOR MAKING A SUPER-INSULATING CORE MATERIAL FOR A VACUUM INSULATED STRUCTURE
A method for forming a super-insulating material for a vacuum insulated structure includes disposing glass spheres within a rotating drum. A plurality of interstitial spaces are defined between the glass spheres. A binder material is disposed within the rotating drum. The glass spheres and the at least one binder material are rotated within the rotating drum, wherein the binder material is mixed during a first mixing stage with the glass spheres. A first insulating material is disposed within the rotating drum. The binder material, the first insulating material and the glass spheres are mixed to define an insulating base. A second insulating material is disposed within the rotating drum. The secondary insulating material is mixed with the insulating base to define a homogenous form of the super-insulating material, wherein the first and second insulating materials occupy substantially all of the interstitial spaces.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of methods, devices, and assemblies for processing feedstock materials using microwave plasma processing. Specifically, the feedstock materials disclosed herein pertains to unique powder feedstocks such as Tantalum, Yttrium Stabilized Zirconia, Aluminum, water atomized alloys, Rhenium, Tungsten, and Molybdenum. Microwave plasma processing can be used to spheroidize and remove contaminants. Advantageously, microwave plasma processed feedstock can be used in various applications such as additive manufacturing or powdered metallurgy (PM) applications that require high powder flowability.
