SELF-HEALING MATRIX FOR A CERAMIC COMPOSITE
A method for forming a self-healing ceramic matrix composite (CMC) component includes depositing a first self-healing particulate material in a first region of a CMC preform of the CMC component and depositing a second self-healing particulate material having a different chemical composition than the first self-healing particulate material in a second region of the CMC preform distinct from the first region.
REGENERATIVE BURNER MEDIA
A high strength ceramic body for use in a regenerative burner media bed, comprising a generally spherical refractory portion and a plurality of irregular aggregate portions distributed randomly throughout the generally spherical portion. The aggregate portions are selected from the group comprising tabular alumina, white fused alumina, mullite, chamotte, and combinations thereof. The generally spherical portion has a porosity of less than 1 percent and is more than 99.5 weight percent alumina.
Colored Composite Material
A solid composite material combining: an inorganic pigment in the form of discrete particles each comprising a colored core and a coating adapted to allow light to pass through and a matrix based on metalloid or metal oxide, said matrix being adapted to allow light to pass through.
SiC SINTERED BODY, HEATER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SiC SINTERED BODY
Provided is a SiC sintered body which contains nitrogen atoms, wherein a ratio R.sub.max/R.sub.ave of a maximum volume resistivity R.sub.max of the sintered body to an average volume resistivity R.sub.ave of the sintered body is 1.5 or lower; a ratio R.sub.min/R.sub.ave of a minimum volume resistivity R.sub.min of the sintered body to the average volume resistivity R.sub.ave is 0.7 or higher; and a relative density of the sintered body is 98% or higher.
Inorganic Foam Based On Calcium Sulfoaluminate
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a particle-stabilized inorganic foam based on calcium sulfoaluminate, to a particle-stabilized inorganic foam based on calcium sulfoaluminate, to a cellular material obtainable by hardening and optionally drying the particle-stabilized inorganic foam based on calcium sulfoaluminate, and to a composition for preparing an inorganic foam formulation for providing a particle-stabilized inorganic foam based on calcium sulfoaluminate.
CYLINDRICAL TITANIUM OXIDE SPUTTERING TARGET AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Known cylindrical sputtering targets comprise a substrate and a target material that forms a layer on the substrate, said layer has a thickness d, wherein the target material comprises TiOx as the main component, and x is within a range of 1<x<2. Starting therefrom and in order to provide large-sized cylindrical sputtering targets with a thick target layer comprising sub-stoichiometric TiO.sub.2 it is proposed that x is within a range of 1.45<x<1.7 that allows a target layer thickness d which is larger than 10 mm.

The generally spherical portion has a porosity of less than 1 percent and is more than 99.5 weight percent alumina.
FERRITE SINTERED BODY AND COIL COMPONENT
A ferrite sintered body contains Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, and Ni. Supposing that Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, and Ni are converted into Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, Mn.sub.2O.sub.3, ZnO, CuO, and NiO, respectively, and the sum of the contents of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, Mn.sub.2O.sub.3, ZnO, CuO, and NiO is 100 mol %, the sum of the contents of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 and Mn.sub.2O.sub.3 is 48.47 mol % to 49.93 mol %, the content of Mn.sub.2O.sub.3 is 0.07 mol % to 0.37 mol %, the content of ZnO is 28.95 mol % to 33.50 mol %, and the content of CuO is 2.98 mol % to 6.05 mol %. Furthermore, 102 ppm to 4,010 ppm Zr in terms of ZrO.sub.2 and 10 ppm to 220 ppm Al in terms of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 are contained per 100 parts by weight of the sum of the amounts of contained Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, Mn.sub.2O.sub.3, ZnO, CuO, and NiO.
DENSE SINTERED PRODUCT
Sintered product having a relative density of greater than 90%, with, to more than 80% of the volume thereof, a stack of flat ceramic platelets, the assembly of the platelets having a mean thickness of less than 3 m, having a width of greater than 50 mm, and including more than 20% of alumina, as a percentage on the basis of the weight of the product. The width of the product is the largest dimension measured in the plane in which the length of the product is measured, along a direction perpendicular to the direction of the length. The length of the product is the largest dimension thereof in a plane parallel to the general plane in which the platelets extend.
Recycling waste refractory material
Disclosed are systems and methods for refractory recycling that result in refined individual refractory components from a network of aggregate refractory components based on a fragmentation process. In one embodiment, a network of refractory aggregates is crushed and deposited into a refiner machine. The refiner machine includes a blast chamber that houses a projecting mechanism. The deposited aggregate material is propelled from the projecting mechanism at a critical velocity. Upon impact with an inner lining of material within the blast chamber, contaminant particles can fracture apart from the deposited aggregate material, leaving a refined individual refractory component.
