Method and device for simultaneously documenting and treating tension pneumothorax and/or hemothorax
A method and device are provided for simultaneously or near-simultaneously diagnosing and treating tension pneumothorax and/or hemothoraxA Veress-type needle portion includes a hollow needle for puncturing the chest wall over a blunt hollow probe biased by one or more springs to extend distally into the pleural cavity. Openings in the blunt hollow probe connect via a pathway to an automatic check valve, which permits the flow of air and/or fluid only in a proximal direction. Pressure from within the pleural cavity is transmitted to the interior surface of a pressure documenter. If pressure greater than atmospheric pressure is present in the pleural cavity, the pressure documenter will be automatically urged proximally to simultaneously allow air and/or fluid to escape from the pleural space through the device, thus treating the tension pneumothorax and/or hemothorax, as well as providing a stable indicator to positively document the diagnosis of increased pressure.
Catheter placing instrument
A catheter placing instrument is provided. The catheter placing instrument includes an elongated body that extends in a longitudinal direction from a proximal end to a distal end. The elongated body has a top surface configured to receive a catheter extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The elongated body includes a catheter insertion section and a grip section. The catheter insertion section includes a catheter locking clamp located at the distal end of the elongated body, and the grip section includes a catheter guide. The catheter placing instrument can be used to place or implant any tubular medical device within a patient's body. A method of placing a tubular medical device at a deep location within a patient's body is also provided.
Catheter devices, needle assemblies, kits and methods
Examples of catheter devices, removable needle devices and kits are disclosed. Also methods for accessing a hollow organ are disclosed. The catheter devices include a body extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein the body includes an elongated channel along a longitudinal length of the body extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the body, wherein the channel is configured to receive an elongated needle of a removable needle device, and the body includes one or more cutting edges extending in a proximal direction from the distal end of the body. The body of the catheter device includes one or more recesses adapted to mate with one or more catches of the removable needle device for coupling the needle device to the catheter devices. Also methods of using the catheters, removable needle devices and the kits are disclosed.
Medical apparatus
A medical apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention can be used for dissociating adhesion to an epidural space and alleviating stenosis to a spinal canal; and comprises: an insertion part including a first end configured to be inserted into a human body and a second end opposite to the first end, and having a first through hole extended from the first end to the second end and formed inside the insertion part, an expansion part configured to be expandable and formed on an outer surface of the insertion part at a predetermined distance apart from the first end of the insertion part, a pair of wires extending in the insertion part and fixed to a region of the first end of the insertion part, a main body, a dial installed to the main body, and a rotation control part coupled to the dial.
Intraosseous device having retractable motor/stylet assembly and automatic stylet point cover upon retraction operation
A portable and passive safety intraosseous device to allow for direct introduction of medications, etc., within the intermedullary space of a subject patient's bone or, if needed, the removal of certain substances from such a subject patient's bone. Such a device permits direct drilling and placement of a cannula within the subject bone with access external to the subject patient's skin, permitting, as well, connection of a tube for such introduction/removal purposes. The ability to provide a passive safety unit allows for facilitated utilization in, for instance, emergency situations with the entire device provided for utilization thereof. The device includes a drilling component with a permanently attached stylet and a removable cannula, a power supply for a single drilling operation, a mechanism to draw the stylet back into the drill component after use and disengagement from the cannula, and an automatic closure that activates with the separation of the cannula.
Protective bubble
A bubble for use with various medical equipment or other sites on the body such as IV ports, feeding tube locations, PODs, CGMs (Continuous Glucose Monitors) or other equipment connected to the body, whereby the bubble assists in protecting the site, and hopefully prevents medical equipment from being dislodged, if installed, to provide for strenuous activity or even application of water, such as bathing, showering, etc.
PUNCTURE SYSTEM
The invention relates to a puncture system having an outer tubular body which is designed to remain in a body part of a living being, said puncture system comprising at least one inner tubular body and a puncture needle, wherein the inner tubular body is guided through a working lumen of the outer tubular body and is longitudinally displaceable relative to the outer tubular body, and the puncture needle is guided through a puncture lumen of the inner tubular body and the inner tubular body is longitudinally displaceable relative to the puncture needle. The puncture system has a manually actuatable element that can be moved by manual actuation at least into a fixing position and into a release position, wherein, in the fixing position, the longitudinal displaceability a1) of the inner tubular body relative to the outer tubular body and/or a2) of the puncture needle relative to the inner tubular body and/or a3) of the puncture needle relative to the outer tubular body is removed or reduced.
TROCAR INSTRUMENT AND AUXILIARY DEVICE THEREFOR
An auxiliary device for use in a trocar instrument, including a trocar needle having a fastening groove formed on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The auxiliary device includes: a body into which at least a portion of the trocar needle is inserted; and a hook connected to the body and configured to be inserted into the fastening groove of the trocar needle. The hook includes a fixing portion fixed to the body and a coupling portion extending from one end of the fixing portion and configured to be inserted into the fastening groove when the trocar needle is disposed inside the body. A gap is formed between the fixing portion and the coupling portion.
Passive Dilation in Catheter Insertion Systems
Disclosed herein is a catheter, which in some embodiments includes a distal section configured to enter a skin insertion site. The distal section can include a tapered junction having one or more dilation structures configured to dilate the skin insertion site. The distal section can further include a distal portion extending from a distal end of the tapered junction, the distal portion having a diameter smaller than a proximal portion of the catheter. In combination, the tapered junction, the one or more dilation structures, and the specific actions of the user urging the catheter into the insertion site can result in an improved fit of the catheter in the insertion site.
