A valve mechanism for a trocar, and a trocar
A valve mechanism (1) for coupling to a trocar (3) comprises a housing (15) having an instrument bore (16) extending therethrough from an upstream end (17) to a downstream end (18) and alignable with an instrument bore (9) of the trocar (3). A gate valve (20) comprising a pair of gate elements (22) located in the housing (15) is operable between a closed state closing the instrument bore (16) and an open state clear of the instrument bore (16). First compression springs (31) urge the gate elements (22) into the closed state. A pair of engagement members (33), which are engageable with an instrument (10), for example, a laparoscope in the instrument bore (16), and which extend into the instrument bore (16) from respective carrier elements (35) through guide slots (38). The carrier elements (35) are coupled to operating members (27) of the gate elements (22) through link members (47) for operating the gate elements (22) from the closed state to the open state as the engagement members (33) are urged downwardly in the direction of the arrow A in the guide slots (38) by an instrument (10) being entered through the instrument bore (16).
Devices and methods for automated surgery
The disclosure includes systems and methods for performing surgery. In a first aspect, the system includes a trocar having in a nested configuration, an outer cannula, an inner cannula disposed within the outer cannula, the inner cannula defining the central longitudinal lumen at least in part to provide access through the trocar, a tube center component disposed within the outer cannula, and a ring jet assembly disposed within the outer cannula. In a further aspect, the system includes an instrument guide disposed in the central longitudinal lumen of the trocar. The instrument guide has a proximal end, a distal end, and a plurality of channels defined through the instrument guide from the proximal end to the distal end, each channel being adapted and configured to receive a surgical instrument.
Suction lithotripsy apparatus, method and kit
Medical devices, methods and kits useful in the disruption and removal of unwanted materials, such as calculi and other formations, from within body lumens are described. The disclosure describes particular embodiments and methods useful in the lithotriptic removal of stones from the salivary glands.
Laparoscopic seal bridge
A system and method for passing an end portion of a needle system from a body cavity to an outer environment through a laparoscopic port is provided. The system comprises a seal bridge which comprises an elongated body. The seal bridge is telescopically introducible at a first proximal end, through a first lumen in the port and bypassing a seal mechanism of the laparoscopic port. The seal bridge is adapted to be inserted through the proximal opening port to be deployed in the lumen of the port and thereby bridging across and/or deactivating the seal of the port. The method comprises positioning a distal portion of a needle shaft from within the body cavity into the port lumen and across the seal opened by the seal bridge.
Sealing devices and related delivery apparatuses
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to implantable sealing devices, delivery apparatuses, and methods of their use, for closing surgical openings or defects in a sidewall of a vessel in a subject. In several embodiments, the disclosed implantable sealing devices, delivery apparatuses, and methods can be used to close a surgical opening in a sidewall of the heart.
UTERINE FIBROID TISSUE REMOVAL DEVICE
A uterine fibroid tissue removal device includes an inner tube disposed within an outer tube and configured to be translated and rotated relative to the outer tube, and a separately formed unitary distal tip member attached to a distal end of the inner tube, such that the distal tip member translates and rotates relative to the outer tube along with the inner tube, wherein a distal facing open cutting end of the distal tip member in fluid communication with an axial lumen of the distal tip member translates across a tissue resection window in a sidewall of the outer tube so as to sever tissue extending therethrough, the distal tip member axial lumen being in fluid communication with an axial lumen of the inner tube, wherein an outer diameter of the distal tip member is greater than an outer diameter of the inner tube.
MOVEMENT DAMPENING SYSTEM FOR A SURGICAL TOOL
A movement dampening system for a surgical tool. The system includes a height-adjustable base positionable adjacent to a surgical site on a patient. An elastic damper is disposed adjacent to the height-adjustable base, A channel extends through the elastic damper and the height-adjustable base to the surgical site. A portion of the channel extending through the elastic damper is sized to receive the surgical tool and to restrict movement of the surgical tool.
Endoscopic surgery device and outer tube
An object of the present invention is to provide an endoscopic surgery device and an outer tube, capable of easily obtaining an image desired by an operator to facilitate treatment as well as of performing minimally invasive surgery. In the endoscopic surgery device and the outer tube, an endoscope and a treatment tool are inserted into a body cavity through an outer tube. The outer tube is provided with a built-in slider. The slider is provided so as to be axially movable in the outer tube body. The endoscope and the treatment tool, inserted into the outer tube, are held by the slider. Moving the treatment tool allows endoscope to be moved in conjunction with the movement of the treatment tool.
Seal anchor with non-parallel lumens
A seal anchor member defines a housing defining a longitudinal axis, the housing having leading and trailing ends, and including a plurality of lumens extending between the leading and trailing ends, each lumen being adapted for substantially sealed reception of an object therein and defining a longitudinal axis, wherein at least two of the lumens define longitudinal axes that are non-parallel to facilitate angled, at-rest placement of multiple instruments within the seal anchor member.
TROCAR COMPRISING SILENCER
Disclosed is a trocar comprising a silencer. An end sealing assembly of a sheath of the trocar of the present application comprises an upper cover, a radial sealing assembly, a silencer and a lower cover; the silencer being an elastic body having one end installed on the radial sealing assembly and the other end installed on the lower cover; and the radial sealing assembly installed between the upper cover and the lower cover, Since the silencer holds up the radial sealing assembly, a gap between the upper cover and the radial sealing assembly is reduced, thereby avoiding an impact sound produced when a surgical instrument is withdrawn outwards, When the surgical instrument is advanced inwards, the impact sound produced when the surgical instrument is advanced inwards is avoided due to a buffer effect of the silencer.
