LAPAROSCOPIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A laparoscopic surgical instrument including a connection assembly, an end effector, and a manipulation unit. The instrument also includes a means for transmitting motion from the manipulation unit to the end effector. The means for transmitting motion may include a means for transmitting first rotational movement of the manipulation unit to the end effector in a way such that the end effector rotates around an axis that is orthogonal to the axis of the connection assembly. The means for transmitting motion may also include a means for transmitting a second rotational movement to the end effector in a way such that the end effector rotates around it's own axis that is parallel to the axis of the manipulation unit.
Passive holding device, modular surgical system and method for manipulating a trocar
The present application provides a passive holding device for handling a trocar and a modular surgical system. The passive holding device has a fastening device with a coupling portion. A pivoting mechanism is connected to the coupling portion via a rotary joint. The pivoting mechanism has two L-shaped branches arranged parallel to one another, each having a short leg that is connected to a long leg via a pivot joint. The short leg of the first branch is longer than the short leg of the second branch and is connected to the long leg via a rotary shaft. The trocar holder has a gripping device and has an instrument brake. A tilting brake is arranged at the coupling portion, operatively connected to the rotary joint, and a pivoting brake is arranged at the coupling portion operatively connected to at least one of the terminal pivot joints.
Surgical system
A surgical system includes an overtube, a sheathing tube, a syringe, a tube, an inner needle, and a storage case that has individual storage parts for individually storing the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, and the inner needle, respectively. The storage case fixes a first instrument, which is any one of the overtube, the sheathing tube, the syringe, the tube, or the inner needle, to the individual storage part corresponding to the first instrument by using at least one of second instruments which are other instruments stored in the individual storage parts.
PINCH-TO-CLAMP CANNULA DEPTH LIMITER
A depth limiter that is configured to couple with a cannula tube of a trocar. The depth limiter includes a body having first and second body portions coupled together and pivotable between open and clamped configurations. The body includes first and second inner surfaces presented by the first and second body portions. In the clamped configuration the first and second inner surfaces form a first cross dimension sized to restrict axial movement of the depth limiter relative to the cannula tube. In the open configuration the first and second inner surfaces form a second cross dimension sized to permit axial movement of the depth limiter relative to the cannula tube. The depth limiter includes first and second locking members, one of which is resiliently biased to engage the other. The locking members are configured to engage each other to lock the body portions in the clamped configuration.
Surgical visualization systems and related methods
Surgical visualization systems and related methods are disclosed herein, e.g., for providing visualization during surgical procedures. Systems and methods herein can be used in a wide range of surgical procedures, including spinal surgeries such as minimally-invasive fusion or discectomy procedures. Systems and methods herein can include various features for enhancing end user experience, improving clinical outcomes, or reducing the invasiveness of a surgery. Exemplary features can include access port integration, hands-free operation, active and/or passive lens cleaning, adjustable camera depth, and many others.
Insertion device systems and methods
An actuation device includes a lancing device held by and moveable relative to a distal end portion of a housing. A drive member is supported by the housing and arranged to engage the lancing device to move the lancing device in the first direction from a retracted position to an extended position upon movement of the drive member in a first direction. A piercing member of the lancing device is arranged to extend from the distal end portion of the housing by a first distance when the lancing device is moved to the extended position, the first distance being adjustable by adjusting the retracted position of the lancing device relative to the distal end portion of the housing.
Ultrasound probe with an integrated needle assembly and a computer program product, a method and a system for providing a path for inserting a needle of the ultrasound probe
A device and system for and methods of using an ultrasound probe housing containing ultrasound probes configured to produce images inside the body of a patient for procedures requiring needle or probe insertion. The ultrasound probe housing can be configured with a guide channel cut-out or aperture between the ambient side and body side of a patient. A needle guide assembly may be pivotally connect internal to the guide channel cut-out or aperture of the ultrasound probe housing at a pivot point such that during use the needle enters the patient through the needle guide assembly within the ultrasonic probe housing so that the needle can be visualized by the ultrasonic probes in real time. The ultrasound probe housing may also provide an adhesion or suction quality to the body side of the device to facilitate aspects of the invention.
SAFETY SHIELDS FOR ELONGATED INSTRUMENTS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system can include an elongated instrument that is positioned within a cannula portion of a cannula assembly. The system can include a shield that is coupled with both the elongated instrument and the cannula assembly when in an unlocked state. The shield can permit proximal movement of the elongated instrument relative thereto when in the unlocked state. The shield can automatically transition to a locked state to attach to a distal end of the elongated instrument to restrict access to a distal tip of the elongated instrument.
DEVICES AND METHODS TO ACCESS A TARGET WITHIN THE BODY
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing access to a target within the body, such as placing an access needle into a renal capsule into the human body. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for performing a percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) procedure accurately and efficiently while minimizing exposure of the medical professional to harmful radiation.
SELECTIVELY LOCKABLE HOLDING ARRANGEMENT FOR A SURGICAL ACCESS SYSTEM
Selectively lockable holding arrangements for a surgical access assembly are disclosed. One holding arrangement includes a body portion, an engagement barrel and a retaining member configured as a hook at a distal end of the body portion. The engagement barrel is position on a proximal end of the body portion and is configured to be selectively rotated about the body portion when operatively connected to a surgical holding arrangement. A rotation brake is mounted on the body section. The rotation brake is selectively operable to lock the engagement barrel against rotation.
