Surgical cannula mounts and related systems and methods
A cannula mount for a surgical system may include a body having an aperture to receive a portion of a cannula. The cannula mount may further include a pivotable clamping arm to engage the portion of the cannula received in the aperture. The clamping arm may include a cam follower surface. The cannula mount may further include a block moveable between a first position and a second position. The block may include a cam surface. The cam surface of the block may engage the cam follower surface of the clamping arm in the first position to actuate the clamping arm to a closed position in which the clamping arm engages the portion of the cannula received in the aperture. The clamping arm may be permitted to move to an open position in which the clamping arm does not engage the cannula when the block is in the second position.
Retraction mechanism for medical device
A device comprises a retractable shaft; a shaft biasing spring; and an actuator button. The retractable shaft is biased away from the actuator button by the shaft biasing spring. A magnetic attracting force is created between the retractable shaft and the actuator button upon actuation of the actuator button. Before actuation, a distance between the actuator button and the retractable shaft is great enough that the magnetic attracting force is less than a biasing force of the shaft biasing spring such that the retractable shaft is biased away from the actuator button. Upon actuation, the actuator button is depressed to make the distance between the actuator button and the retractable shaft sufficiently small such that the magnetic attracting force is greater than the biasing force of the shaft biasing spring to allow the retractable shaft to be biased towards the actuator button.
SCISSOR SLEEVE ASSEMBLY PROTECTION
A sleeve insertion assembly includes a sleeve inserter defining an inner chamber and having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, a sleeve receivable within the inner chamber, and a blade guard receivable within the sleeve and having a cylindrical body that defines an interior and an open end. The open end is sized to receive jaw members of an end effector into the interior but prevent the end effector from entering the interior, and the blade guard is forced out of the sleeve when the sleeve is installed on the end effector.
PORT APPARATUS AND SHEATH DEVICE FOR ELECTROCAUTERY AND RELATED METHODS THEREOF
A method and apparatus for performing electrocautery on a site of a subject that includes inserting a trocar device into the location of the site of the subject and electro-cauterizing the site of the subject using a diode included with the trocar device. A method and apparatus for performing electrocautery on a site of a subject that includes inserting one or more medical tubes or medical instruments or devices that extends through an expandable sheath; and electro-cauterizing the site of the subject using a diode included with the expandable sheath device.
Electrosurgical generator as well as a control device and a method
An electrosurgical generator, a control device, a method for operating the electrosurgical generator and a computer program product. The electrosurgical generator includes an ultrasonic generator for providing an excitation signal by which an ultrasonic converter can generate an ultrasonic vibration, a radiofrequency generator for providing a radiofrequency energy at two output contacts, and a control unit adapted to independently activate the radiofrequency generator and the ultrasonic generator. The control unit is further adapted to determine a DC-offset voltage between the two output contacts of the radiofrequency generator, check if the DC-offset voltage exceeds a DC-offset threshold value, and deactivate the ultrasonic generator if the DC-offset voltage does not exceed the DC-offset threshold.
SURGICAL NEEDLE DEVICE
Various surgical introducer needle and anchor systems are provided. The systems can include an introducer needle and a tissue support implant or sling device. The implant device can include one or more anchoring devices. The introducer needle device can include a handle assembly and a needle assembly. The needle assembly can include a generally hollow needle, and a wire traversable therein. The wire can include a distal tip adapted to selectively retract or withdraw from the engaged anchoring device upon deployment of the anchor and/or implant.
HANDHELD ELECTROMECHANICAL SURGICAL SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to adapter assemblies for use with and to electrically and mechanically interconnect electromechanical surgical devices and surgical reloads, and to surgical systems including handheld electromechanical surgical devices and adapter assemblies for connecting surgical reloads to the handheld electromechanical surgical devices.
Apparatus and methods to harvest bone and bone marrow
An apparatus and method for harvesting bone and bone marrow are provided. The apparatus may include a driver operable to be releasably engaged with an intraosseous device. The intraosseous device may include a cannula having a first end operable to penetrate bone and bone marrow and to allow retrieval of portions of bone and/or bone marrow. The cannula may have a second end operable to be releasably engaged with bone marrow sampling equipment. The apparatus may include a removable trocar. The removable trocar may have an inner channel operable to convey portions of bone and/or bone marrow. The removable trocar may have an inner channel and a side port communicating with the inner channel. The removable trocar may have a first end operable to penetrate bone and bone marrow.
Surgical needle and anchor system with retractable features
Various surgical introducer needle and anchor systems are provided. The systems can include an introducer needle and a tissue support implant or sling device. The implant device can include one or more anchoring devices. The introducer needle device can include a handle assembly and a needle assembly. The needle assembly can include a generally hollow needle, and a wire traversable therein. The wire can include a distal tip adapted to selectively retract or withdraw from the engaged anchoring device upon deployment of the anchor and/or implant.
Adapter, extension, and connector assemblies for surgical devices
An adapter assembly for operably connecting an end effector to a surgical instrument. The adapter assembly includes a first proximal shaft, a second proximal shaft, a first distal shaft, and a second distal shaft. The first proximal shaft includes a first gear assembly. The second proximal shaft defines a longitudinal axis and includes a second gear assembly. The first distal shaft is disposed along the longitudinal axis and includes a third gear assembly. The first gear assembly is mechanically engaged with the third gear assembly. The second distal shaft includes a fourth gear assembly. The second gear assembly is mechanically engaged with the fourth gear assembly. A distal portion of the second distal shaft is disposed at least partially within an internal cavity of the third gear assembly.
