A force sensor includes a substrate, a plurality of sensing elements, and a plate. The substrate includes a central aperture extending along a longitudinal axis of the substrate, and has a proximal surface, a distal surface, a first side surface, a second side surface, a top surface, and a bottom surface. A recess is defined in at least one of the distal surface, the first side surface, the second side surface, the top surface, or the bottom surface of the substrate. The plurality of sensing elements are disposed within the recess, and the plate is disposed over the recess and mounted to the substrate to hermetically seal the plurality of sensing elements within the substrate.

Tools and methods for vaginal access

Trocar components and methods of use are described, wherein the trocar components are configured to provide access to intraperitoneal space via the rectouterine pouch to surgical tools, which optionally include one or more surgical robot members. The surgical tools are optionally 5 mm or more in diameter. In some embodiments, a cannula part has a lumen sized to provide to a plurality of the surgical tools simultaneous transvaginal access to the intraperitoneal space via the rectouterine pouch. In some embodiments, an incision sized to receive a distal aperture of the cannula is created, optionally using one or two dilators. The dilators are sized to create (optionally starting from a puncture by a needle 2 mm in diameter or less) an oblong aperture. In some embodiments, the oblong aperture is at least twice as wide across a long diameter as across a short diameter.

A safety needle is disclosed having a puncture needle with a needle lumen and a ground tip; a holding device that, during use, bears on the skin of a patient and holds the puncture needle; and a safety mechanism with a protection element that has a first, opened state and a second, closed state. When the holding device is taken away from the skin and/or when the holding device is moved with respect to the defined position, the safety mechanism automatically moves the protection element from a first position, in which the tip of the needle is exposed, to a second position, in which the tip of the needle is covered as the protection element at the same time transfers automatically from the first, opened state to the second, closed state.

DEVICE FOR TREATING THE VAGINAL CANAL OR OTHER NATURAL OR SURGICALLY OBTAINED ORIFICES, AND RELATED APPARATUS

A device for treating the vaginal canal by a laser beam. The device for treating the vaginal canal includes a retractor for the wall of the vaginal canal, associated with a scanning system for scanning the laser beam towards the wall by means of a pyramidal mirror for laser beam reflection.

Tools and methods for vaginal access

An access port for sealing an opening of a natural orifice and supplying access to a body cavity through the natural orifice including: a sealing unit; an unobstructed single lumen cannula extending to the body cavity; a connector connecting the cannula to the sealing unit; an access opening through the sealing unit to the single lumen; a cap including a plurality of cap openings configured to seal between medical instruments inserted into the openings and the access opening.
