UTEROTUBAL IRRIGATION TECHNIQUE AND DEVICE
20170173257 · 2017-06-22 ·

An uterotubal irrigation system and process for implanting hysterosalpingogram (HSG) procedures is provided. The uterotubal irrigation system serially irrigates and evacuates fluid in the uterus and into the Fallopian tubes, for the collection of cells from the Fallopian tubes. The uterotubal irrigation system has a partially flexible cannula for introduction through the cervical os into the uterine cavity. The cannula has an enlarged external plug proximal to the distal tip of the cannula, to occlude the os and permit infusion of fluid into the uterus. The cannula has an internal tube for irrigation, and an external sheath with multiple slits near the distal end of the cannula. An uterotubal irrigation system is provided that includes a catheter with two opposing outlet openings on a distal tip of the catheter that injects an irrigation fluid in two opposing jets that splay out laterally toward the openings of a patient's Fallopian tubes.

Vaginal endoscopic port unit module

The present invention relates to a laparoscopic port unit module in which one end thereof and the other end are placed inside and outside the human body, respectively, through the vaginal inlet, and provides a vaginal endoscopic port unit module comprising: an outer unit of which the end is exposed to the outside of the vaginal inlet and which comprises one or more outer ports allowing the entry of a surgical instrument including an endoscope; an inner unit formed at the inner wall of the vaginal canal so as to be placed at an incision region connected to the abdominal cavity and allowing the surgical instrument entering through the outer port to come in and out of the abdominal cavity; and a runner unit for connecting the outer unit and the inner unit.

MEDICAL DEVICE INTRODUCTION SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A medical device introduction system includes an introducer comprising a handle. An introducer tube extends from the handle to a distal end and defines longitudinally-extending lumens. An imaging system, engageable with the introducer, comprises a body member having a light source and receivable by the handle. A proximal portion of a flexible tubular member is engaged with the body member, and is positionable in one lumen. An imaging device, engaged with the distal portion and in communication with the body member, is directed in an imaging direction to capture an image outwardly of the distal portion. A plurality of light transmission devices extends through the tubular member from the light source, and distal ends thereof are arranged about the imaging device about the distal portion of the tubular member to direct the light transmitted from the light source in the imaging direction. An associated system and method are also provided.

METHOD AND APPARATUS UTILIZING MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES FOR PERFORMING HYPERTHERMAL THERAPIES

A system for heating tissue in a subject, has an alternating current (AC) source coupled to a coil; a magnetically permeable passive magnetic concentrator, and positioned to alter an intensity distribution of the field;. The system has a processor with a computer model of coil and concentrator, the memory with code for simulating magnetic fields and configured to generate an intensity map describing the intensity distribution of the AC magnetic field. A method of providing an alternating current (AC) magnetic field to magnetic nanoparticles includes: providing a source of alternating current coupled to a coil; positioning the coil in a vicinity of the nanoparticles; positioning a passive concentrator near the nanoparticles; and energizing the coil to generate the AC field, the field shaped by the concentrator and heats the nanoparticles. A particular embodiment simulates the magnetic field and compares the field to parameters to verify adequate heating of the nanoparticles.

Low-cost instrument for endoscopically guided operative procedures

Installments and methods are described for performing endoscopically guided operative procedures. According to some embodiments, a re-usable portion of the instrument includes a handle, electronics and an integrated display screen while a fluid hub and a cannula which includes a CMOS imaging module and LED lighting, form a single use portion of the instrument. The cannula includes a working channel configured to accept an operative device for performing the operative procedures.

IMPLANT DELIVERY DEVICE
20170100126 · 2017-04-13 · ·

A system for delivering an implant within a patient is disclosed. The activation of the heater coil causes the degradation, melting or reduction of a component that brings the heater coil into or out of electrical contact with another component, or causes the individual loops of the coil to contact each other, thereby resulting a notable change in resistance in the circuit supplying the heater coil with electricity. A core wire terminates prior to the distal end of the device, allowing for greater flexibility.

Actuator for deployable implant

Systems and methods are provided for using an actuator to deploy an implant configured to close a tissue puncture or a natural opening in a body. The actuator includes a handle that is rotated in a first direction to deploy a first set of deployable wings of the implant, and that is rotated in a second, opposite direction to deploy a second set of deployable wings of the implant. A guide wire coupled between the implant and the actuator rotates and/or moves axially with the actuator to cause the wings to deploy. After each of the first and second rotation strokes, the handle is prevented from rotating beyond the first and second strokes, respectively. After the wings are deployed to engage tissue therebetween, the handle is operated to eject the implant from the actuator.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FALLOPIAN TUBE OCCLUSION

A system for treating a fallopian tube to promote contraception includes a catheter device, a tissue disrupting head coupled with the catheter device, and a fluid delivery port for delivering a sclerosant to the mucosal lining of the fallopian tube before, during or after disruption of the mucosal lining by the tissue disrupting head. The catheter device may include a handle and a catheter shaft having a proximal end coupled with the handle and a distal end sized and configured to be advanced through a cervix and into the fallopian tube. The tissue disrupting head may include at least one tissue disrupting member configured to operable to mechanically disrupt a mucosal lining of the fallopian tube by contacting the tissue disrupting member with the mucosal lining and moving the tissue disrupting head. The fluid delivery port may be located in the catheter shaft or the tissue disrupting head.
