The system includes a laser configured for lithotripsy procedure, a lithotripsy irrigation system, and a temperature sensor configured to provide input to enable control of a flow of the lithotripsy irrigation system in response to a change in temperature from the operation of the laser.
APPARATUS AND METHOD PROVIDING A HAND-MOUNTED SURGICAL TOOL
A method and apparatus for providing hand-mounted surgical tools is provided. The apparatus includes a housing configured to be mounted to a body of a user. The apparatus also includes an optical source to generate a first optical signal in an absorption spectrum of a biocompatible fluorescing dye (BFD). The apparatus also includes an optical detector to detect a second optical signal in an emission spectrum of the BFD. The apparatus also includes a processor to receive a signal from the optical detector that indicates that the second optical signal was detected by the optical detector. The processor is further configured to cause the apparatus to transmit a signal to a non-visual feedback device to cause the non-visual feedback device to output non-visual feedback to the user that the second optical signal was detected by the optical detector.
ELECTROSURGICAL GENERATOR HAVING AN EXTENDED MEASUREMENT RANGE
An electrosurgical generator for supplying power, including an inverter for high voltage, which is led to an output to the connector of an electrosurgical instrument, a measurement system with at least one measurement monitor for a physical parameter at the output or at the electrosurgical instrument, and an operation controller which controls the inverter on the basis of at least one predefined operating sequence. The measurement monitor for the physical parameter is switchable between a plurality of different configurations which differ in the measurement range. The operation controller interacts with the measurement system so one of the different configurations of the measurement monitor is switched in each case, under control by the operating sequence. By switching the configuration, the suitable measurement range is always set during operation. Apparently contrariwise requirements in relation to a reliable measurement even at high amplitudes are linked with great measurement accuracy even at low amplitudes.
REAL-TIME SURGICAL TOOL PRESENCE/ABSENCE DETECTION IN SURGICAL VIDEOS
Embodiments described herein provide various techniques and systems for building machine-learning surgical tool presence/absence detection models for processing surgical videos and predicting whether a surgical tool is present or absent in each video frame of a surgical video. In one aspect, a process for ensuring patient safety during a laparoscopic or robotic surgery involving an energy tool is disclosed. The process can begin receiving a real-time control signal indicating an operating state of an energy tool during the surgery. Next, the process receives real-time endoscope video images of the surgery. The process simultaneously applies a machine-learning surgical tool presence/absence detection model to the real-time endoscope video images to generate real-time decisions on a location of the energy tool in the real-time endoscope video images. The process then checks the real-time control signal against the real-time decisions to identify an unsafe event and takes a proper action when an unsafe event is identified.
Cryogenic balloon device with radiofrequency treatment region
An intravascular ablation device, including a flexible elongate body; an expandable element positioned on the elongate body; a radiofrequency or electroporation treatment segment located distally of the expandable element; a cryogenic coolant source in fluid communication with an interior of the expandable element; and a radiofrequency or electroporation energy source in communication with the radiofrequency or electroporation treatment segment.
Systems and methods for selecting, activating, or selecting and activating transducers
Transducer-based systems can be configured to display a graphical representation of a transducer-based device, the graphical representation including graphical elements corresponding to transducers of the transducer-based device, and also including between graphical elements respectively associated with a set of the transducers and respectively associated with a region of space between the transducers of the transducer-based device. Selection of graphical elements and/or between graphical elements can cause activation of the set of transducers associated with the selected elements. Selection of a plurality of graphical elements and/or between graphical elements can cause visual display of a corresponding activation path in the graphical representation. Visual characteristics of graphical elements and between graphical elements can change based on an activation-status of the corresponding transducers. Activation requests for a set of transducers can be denied if it is determined that a transducer in the set of transducers is unacceptable for activation.
Electroporation systems and catheters for electroporation systems
The present disclosure provides catheters for electroporation systems. One catheter includes a plurality of catheter electrodes disposed along a portion of a distal end of the electroporation catheter. The plurality of catheter electrodes includes a plurality of first type catheter electrodes adapted for use with an electroporation generator during an electroporation procedure and a plurality of second type catheter electrodes adapted for use with an electroporation generator during an electroporation procedure and for use with a diagnostic subsystem. The plurality of first type catheter electrodes is positioned at a distal end of the electroporation catheter. Each second type catheter electrode is adjacent another second type catheter electrode.
Radiofrequency ablation of tissue within a vertebral body
Methods and systems for modulating intraosseous nerves (e.g., nerves within bone) are provided. For example, the methods and systems described herein may be used to modulate (e.g., denervate, ablate) basivertebral nerves within vertebrae. The modulation of the basivertebral nerves may facilitate treatment of chronic back pain. The modulation may be performed by a neuromodulation device (e.g., an energy delivery device).
Directional cryoablation system
A cryoablation system is provided that can assume a directional activated state and includes a cryoablation probe and a controller. The cryoablation probe has an active region that includes a cooling compartment and an opposing heating compartment that are thermally insulated from one another to minimize energy losses therebetween such that ice is selectively and directionally formed at the target site. The cooling compartment can include a temperature sensor and an exhaust tube to guide a fluid or gas that exhibits a Joule Thomson cooling effect through the probe. The heating compartment can include a temperature sensor and a heater cartridge having a heater zone. The controller of the cryoablation system can process temperature measurement data from the sensors of the heating and cooling compartments and regulate the heater zone based on the temperature measurement data processing to maintain a temperature that is sufficiently constant to mitigate or prevent formation of ice on the heating compartment.
