Ionic tags for synthesis of oligoribonucleotides
The invention relates to the chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides, e.g., oligoribonucleotides. In another aspect, the invention relates to compounds of formula (II): ##STR00001##
processes for making these compounds, and the use thereof in the chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides, e.g., oligoribonucleotides. The invention also relates to methods of synthesis of oligomers, including but not limited to oligopeptides, oligosaccharides and oligonucleotides, particularly oligoribonucleotides and also oligodeoxyribonucleotides, in solution systems, and ionic tag linkers for use in methods provided herein.
Use of di-ionic compounds as corrosion inhibitors in a water system
Disclosed herein are the methods of using di-cationic or di-anionic compounds, which are derived from primary amine through an aza-Michael addition with an activated olefin, in a corrosion control composition to mitigate corrosion of a surface in a water system. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used single quaternary compounds for mitigating corrosion for a metal surface in water systems.
Non-aqueous electrolyte magnesium secondary battery
This invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte magnesium secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, the non-aqueous electrolyte comprising [N(SO.sub.2CF.sub.3).sub.2].sup.− as an anion, and Mg.sup.2+ and/or an organic onium cation as a cation.

PHOSPHONIUM-BASED ZWITTERIONIC MONOMERS AND POLYMERS, AND COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THEREOF
The invention provides novel zwitterionic monomers and polymers (including copolymers) with pendent phosphonium-based zwitterionic moieties, and compositions and products comprising same, as well as related methods and uses of the compositions, for example, as surfactants, coatings, and interlayer materials, biomedical materials or agents.
Ionic liquids comprising heteraromatic anions
Some embodiments described herein relate to ionic liquids comprising an anion of a heteraromatic compound such as optionally substituted pyrrolide, optionally substituted pyrazolide, optionally substituted indolide, optionally substituted phospholide, or optionally substituted imidazolide. Methods and devices for gas separation or gas absorption related to these ionic liquids are also described herein.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING TRIARYLORGANOBORATES
The invention relates to a process for preparing triaryl organo borates proceeding from organoboronic esters in the presence of an n-valent cation 1/n K.sup.n+, comprising the anhydrous workup of the reaction mixture and the use of the triaryl organoborates obtained as co-initiator in photopolymer formulations, holographic media and holograms.
ENRICHMENT-TRIGGERED CHEMICAL DELIVERY SYSTEM
Disclosed herein is a chemical delivery system having: i) a cargo compound comprising a first reactive moiety covalently bonded to a first enrichment moiety and a tethered cargo moiety, wherein the first reactive moiety is bonded to the tethered cargo moiety via a cleavable linker; and ii) a trigger compound comprising a second reactive moiety covalently bonded to a second enrichment moiety and a cargo-releasing moiety. The first enrichment moiety and the second enrichment moiety cause an increase in concentration of the cargo compound and the concentration of the trigger compound at a target site, causing a bimolecular reaction between the first reactive moiety and the second reactive moiety to form a cyclization precursor compound. The cargo moiety is then released from the cyclization precursor compound in a unimolecular cyclization reaction. Methods for treating conditions such as cancer, inflammatory conditions, and infections with the chemical delivery systems are also described.
Aqueous electrolytes with bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide salt electrolyte and ionic liquid system and batteries using the electrolyte system
An aqueous electrolyte composition suitable for a lithium secondary battery is provided. The aqueous electrolyte composition contains water; lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl) imide (LiFSI); and an ionic liquid comprising an organic cation and a bis(fluorosulfonyl) imide anion (FSI); wherein the ionic liquid is a liquid at 20 C. A lithium secondary battery containing the aqueous electrolyte and a vehicle at least partially powered by the battery are also provided.
