A surgical draping system includes an under-draping, an over-draping, and a connecting draping connected by the under-draping and the over-draping. The surgical draping system is used to establish and maintain a surgical corridor to a surgical site or sites on a patient supported by a surgical table. The surgical draping system can accommodate rotation of the patient on the surgical table, such that the sterile surgical corridor is maintained even during such rotation. The sterile surgical corridor extends through an aperture formed in the over-draping, through an enclosed passageway formed through the connecting draping, and through an aperture formed in the under-draping.

A skin-based patient tracking apparatus for surgical navigation. The apparatus includes an adhesive layer, a plurality of surgical tracking elements, a base layer between the adhesive layer and the plurality of surgical tracking elements, and an outer layer covering the plurality of surgical tracking elements.

A neonatal drape device for protecting a neonatal subject comprising a sheet configured to receive the neonatal subject in a supine position. The sheet has a base, at least one side edge, and a plurality of separation lines. The separation lines extend inwardly from the at least one side edge of the sheet. The sheet is sufficiently pliable so as to wrap and conform to the neonatal subject. The sheet further includes a plurality of notches disposed adjacent to the base, each at an inner end of one of the separation lines. The notches are configured to allow a cable to extend from an internal space of the neonatal drape device to an external location while the sheet is wrapped around the neonatal subject.

A surgical incision drape, comprises a flexible substantially flat areal substrate having an upper side and an opposing tissue-facing side, having a longitudinal axis and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the tissue-facing side; at least one hollow microtubular compartment containing a flowable medical agent, said hollow microtubular compartment positioned to intersect the longitudinal axis and embedded into the substrate or positioned on the substrate.

A surgical incision drape, comprises a flexible substantially flat areal substrate having an upper side and an opposing tissue-facing side, having a longitudinal axis and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the tissue-facing side; at least one hollow microtubular compartment containing a flowable medical agent, said hollow microtubular compartment positioned to intersect the longitudinal axis and embedded into the substrate or positioned on the substrate.

The invention relates to a device for draining urine from the bladder of a patient, consisting of an indwelling part placed in the bladder and in the urethra, and of a retractable insertion aid of tubular or hose-like construction which is placed into the indwelling part and facilitates insertion into or passage through the urethra, and of which the inner lumen affords the possibility of applying a lubricating and lumen-straightening substance into the urethra, wherein a reservoir vessel for holding a preferably gel-like substance can be mounted at the proximal end of the insertion aid, and the substance can be applied through the insertion aid from the opening of the catheter tip into the urethra, without a reverse flow into the proximal gap between insertion aid and catheter; moreover, various embodiments of the device are described, and also a method which permits the procedure of draping and cleaning in preparation for the introduction of a catheter by hand and also allows the catheterization of the bladder to be guided with just one hand by the user.

A draping system for use with a medical apparatus, such as a prone breast biopsy system. The draping system may be in the form of a kit ready to be installed on the medical apparatus and may include one or more of a first drape, a second drape, and a third drape. The first drape may include a mat and a protuberance, the mat and the protuberance being coupled together. The protuberance may be configured to receive a paddle mount of the medical apparatus. The mat may have a distal end configured to be secured to a breast support platform of the medical apparatus just below an image receptor. The second drape may include a mat having a distal end configured to be mounted on a compression paddle of the medical apparatus. The third drape may be configured to be inserted over the control panel of the medical apparatus.

A surgical drape adapted to overlay a patient including an opaque sheet having superior region extending to a cephalad end with a fenestration configured to surround a surgical region of the patient, and an inferior region extending from the inferior aspect of the fenestration to a caudal end and having a transparent sheet joined to the patient facing side of the opaque sheet proximate the inferior aspect of the fenestration between opposite opaque sheet first and second edges allowing the inferior portion of the opaque sheet drawn away from the transparent sheet to allow a surgeon visual access to the patient through the transparent sheet.

Switchable adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising an adhesive component, which is formed from a material or materials capable of undergoing cross-linking with isocyanale other than by free radical polymerisation and at least one isocyanate having an average of more than one isocyanate functions, unsaturated curable molecules mixed in or partially bound in with the adhesive component, or unsaturated curable moieties fully bound in to the material or materials capable of undergoing cross-linking with isocyanate, and a photoinitiator. The adhesive composition forms a tacky gel-like pressure sensitive adhesive that is capable of moulding to a substrate, and upon activation of the photoinitiator the curable molecules or moieties cross-link to form a dense 3-dimensional network through the adhesive component which causes the composition to become less tacky and to form an elastic film with reduced peel strength.
