DISPOSABLE RADIAL ACCESS CATHETERIZATION SLEEVE
20220233268 · 2022-07-28 ·

A catheterization sleeve is provided for radial access catheterization. The sleeve includes a closed distal end, and open proximal end and a tubular sidewall extending between the ends. An access opening is formed in the tubular sidewall to permit access to a catheterization site on the arm of the patient.

Surgical draping system and method

A surgical drape includes a seal connectable with a selected surface of a body disposed with a surgical table. A draping is connected with the seal and a track of the surgical table. The draping is movable relative to the seal to define a sterile region about the body. Surgical instruments, systems and methods are disclosed.

A surgical drape adapted to overlay a patient including an opaque sheet having superior region extending to a cephalad end with a fenestration configured to surround a surgical region of the patient, and an inferior region extending from the inferior aspect of the fenestration to a caudal end and having a transparent sheet joined to the patient facing side of the opaque sheet proximate the inferior aspect of the fenestration between opposite opaque sheet first and second edges allowing the inferior portion of the opaque sheet drawn away from the transparent sheet to allow a surgeon visual access to the patient through the transparent sheet.

Devices and methods to entrap aerosols and droplets

The invention encompasses devices and methods that at least partially entrap the droplets and aerosols from a person undergoing an aerosol/droplet-generating procedure, thereby reducing a health care worker's direct exposure to such health hazards. The device includes a planar cover structure impermeable to aerosols, droplets, fluids and gas. The planar cover structure providing a barrier between a health care worker and the body cavity or orifice of a patient. A hollow tubular extension forming an opening on the planar cover structure and the opening is configured to be positioned approximately on top of the body cavity or orifice of the patient. The opening configured to be reversibly closed via a closure mechanism.

Method of using surgical drape

A surgical drape is configured for covering a patient and an ultrasonography probe during surgical treatment of the patient. The surgical drape may include a first portion that includes a canopy portion. The canopy portion can be sized and shaped to at least partially cover a mechanical arm coupled to the ultrasonography probe and a proximal portion of the ultrasonography probe, and the canopy portion can be configured to move with the proximal portion of the ultrasonography probe when the ultrasonography probe is supported by the mechanical arm. A second portion can be coupled to the first portion, in which the second portion is sized and shaped to cover at least a portion of a torso of the patient.

Disclosed are fenestration coverings, procedural drapes, and methods thereof. For example, a fenestration covering is configured to cover a fenestration in a procedural drape for a medical procedure. The fenestration covering includes a transparent sheet of polymeric material and a non-adhesive central portion of the fenestration covering. The transparent sheet has a length and width sufficient to cover the fenestration and allow a clinician to manipulate the patient, one or more pieces of procedural equipment or supplies, or a combination thereof under the fenestration covering. The central portion of the fenestration covering is greater than or coextensive with the fenestration. An example method includes forming a fenestration in one or more procedural drapes for a medical procedure and covering the fenestration with the fenestration covering.

RETRACTOR/STABILIZER AND WOUND EXPOSURE DEVICE FOR USE WITH PATIENTS HAVING EXCESSIVE AND/OR REDUNDANT TISSUE AND METHOD OF USE
20210267582 · 2021-09-02 ·

A unitary adhesive retractor is provided for supporting a patient's excess/redundant tissue to maintain the excess/redundant tissue away from an incision or other existing wound. The retractor defines a top-to-bottom length and a side-to-side width greater than one-half the top-to-bottom length, and comprises a stretchable, air-permeable fabric layer adherable directly to the excess/redundant tissue by means of a silicone gel adhesive which coats at least a substantial portion of a bottom surface of the fabric layer. When the retractor is placed in tension upon application of the retractor to a patient, due to the weight of the excess/redundant tissue, forces generated by the weight of the excess/redundant tissue are transferred through the gel adhesive to the fabric layer, such that the gel substantially protects the dermis of the patient from sheer forces generated by the weight of the excess/redundant tissue being evenly distributed to the dermis of the patient.

ULTRAPORTABLE SYSTEM FOR INTRAOPERATIVE ISOLATIVE AND REGULATION OF SURGICAL SITE ENVIRONMENTS

A portable surgical system including a transparent and flexible plastic enclosure (1) is disclosed. The enclosure is attached reversibly to the patient's body encompassing the surgical site such as to isolate and regulate the immediate environment of the surgical site, and to reduce bodily fluid splatters from the surgical site to the surgical providers. The enclosure is inflated with filtered air. Arm ports (8) are integrated into the enclosure to allow access to the inside of the enclosure by either provider arms or augmenting instrumentation taking the place of arms such as laparoscopes or robots. Material ports (10) maintain enclosure environmental integrity but allow the passing of anatomical specimens, instruments, and other materials into and out of the enclosure (1) during a procedure. The portable surgical system is lightweight and can be used in conventional operating rooms to improve sterility, or in other circumstances where no operating room is available, such as field hospitals.
