Waterborne bonding adhesive formulation for sheet membrane incorporating a solid plasticizer

An adhesive formulation is provided that is a waterborne bonding adhesive for adhering sheet membranes that may incorporate a solid plasticizer. The formulation is fast-curing and develops bond strength rapidly after application to a substrate as the adhesive dries, when the sheet membrane is mated to the substrate. The fast-curing characteristic is important to ensure the membrane is not displaced from the surface in windy exterior applications. The adhesive is formulated to form the bond between sheet membranes to substrates that illustratively include, steel, wood, concrete, roof boards, insulation, and fiberglass mat roof boards.

Ink Jet Ink And Recording Apparatus

An ink jet ink contains a pigment; an inorganic oxide colloid; a betaine; and water, and in the ink jet ink described above, a total concentration (mg/L) of potassium ions and sodium ions in the ink is 500 ppm or less.

HYBRID ANIONIC, NONIONIC WATER-BASED POLYURETHANE-POLYUREA

An embodiment of the invention provides an anionic/non-ionic water based polymer comprising polyurethane and polyurea. The polymer is approximately 30 to 40 weight percent non-volatile and has a viscosity of between approximately 1400 and 1500 cps. Also provided is a method for producing an anion/non-ionic water based polyurethane/polyurea polymer, the method comprising heating dimethylolpropionic acid; combining the dimethylolproprionic acid with heated PEG to create a slurry; adding isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) to the slurry to create a mixture; and heating the mixture in the presence of a catalyst. The prepolymer is then salted out after catalyst is added and reaction complete. This salted prepolymer is then added to ethylene diamine in water to chain extend and promote water solubility. Also provided is a film comprising the polymer.

The present invention provides an anti-corrosion composition comprising an inorganic ion-exchanger and a waterborne resin, wherein a substrate exposed to a halide-containing environment and having the anti-corrosion composition applied thereto has a reduced level of corrosion compared to the substrate exposed to the halide-containing environment without the anti-corrosion composition being applied. The inventive waterborne anti-corrosion composition may find use on substrates such as automotive vehicles, bridges, cranes, superstructures, offshore oil & gas rigs, pipes, tanks, ships, barges, boats, aircraft, concrete, and masonry that are exposed to halide-containing environments.

Temporary decorative automotive/protective paint based on polyurethane dispersions

The present invention provides a homogeneous, sprayable liquid composition formulated for spraying onto a substrate to protectively cover at least a portion of a surface of the substrate, the sprayable liquid composition comprising: (a) an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD); (b) a pigment; (c) a surfactant; and (d) a silica compound, the sprayable liquid composition, once dry, forming a solid, uniform, peelable coating adhered to the substrate without use of a separate adhesive coating layer, the peelable coating having a greater scratch resistance, and the peelable coating having a greater fuel staining resistance compared to peelable, specialty rubber coatings. The peelable coating may also find use in or as automotive OEM delivery wraps, transportation coatings, ride-hailing advertisements; agricultural and mining equipment; in architectural coatings such as floor coatings, bath tub and shower protective peelable coatings; and in home and office furniture protective coverings.
