OPHTHALMIC SURGICAL SYSTEMS,METHODS, AND DEVICES
The disclosure herein provides ophthalmic surgical systems, methods, and devices. In one embodiment, a handheld medical instrument for surgical procedures comprises a body having an exterior surface shaped to be held and manipulated by a human hand; a surgical tool extending from a distal end of the body; and a pressure-sensitive button for controlling operation of the surgical tool, the pressure-sensitive button comprising an actuation surface positioned adjacent the exterior surface of the body, the pressure-sensitive button further comprising a pressure detection device, the pressure detection device configured to enable output of a signal for controlling a function of the surgical tool, the signal being proportional to a position of the actuation surface.
IFAK package assemblies
IFAK assemblies may include an outer shell having an outer shell interior. An interior sleeve may be removably deployed in the outer shell interior of the outer shell. A left tourniquet sleeve may be carried by a first side of the outer shell. The left tourniquet sleeve may have a left sleeve interior and a left tourniquet retrieval opening. A right tourniquet sleeve may be carried by a second side of the outer shell opposite the first side. The right tourniquet sleeve may have a right sleeve interior and a right tourniquet retrieval opening.
STERILE PACKAGING FOR SURGICAL TOOLS
The present invention is package for a sterile tool, and a system for housing and using the tool in a sterile environment. The tool in its non-functioning state, lacking non-sterile components, is disposable. The system permits insertion of non-sterile elements of the tool into the tool while maintaining sterility of the outside portion of the tool. When the package is opened, a door on the tool automatically closes over the non-sterile element in the sleeve.
