Sterility breach detection system and controller system for a sterilization container
The present disclosure provides sterilization containers with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants. The present disclosure also provides a sterility breach detection system for detecting whether the sterilization container seal has been breached, which potentially could compromise the sterility of any contents of the container. Further, the present disclosure provides a controller system for detecting, tracking, and alerting a user to the state of a sterilization container, such as whether the container seal has been breached. The sterility breach detection system and/or the controller system may utilize a smart gasket to detect breaches in a seal of a sterilization container, and a controller in operative communication with the smart gasket may activate an indicator to alert a user to a detected breach in the seal.
Intraosseous Sterile Barrier and Packaging
An intraosseous access system with a sterile access assembly provided within a sterile packaging. The access assembly can be sealed within the sterile packaging by a lid that can allow for gas sterilization. The sterile packaging provides both mechanical protection and a sterile barrier during handling and transport. In an embodiment, a disposable intraosseous access system is provided with the access assembly pre-attached to the driver, and a sterile packaging or cap disposed thereover, configured to provide both mechanical protection and a sterile barrier during handling and transport. In an embodiment, once the cap is removed, the access assembly extends from a retracted position within the driver, to a deployed position. After used the access assembly can be retracted to provide safe disposal. The system can further include an extension set also disposed within the sterile environment provided by the driver or the cap.
ANNULAR SEAL
A annular gasket defining a circumferential extension trajectory lying on a main plane, a section plane normal to the extension trajectory and to the main plane, and sagittal plane tangent to the extension trajectory and normal to the main plane, and including a profile defining on the section plane an X shape divided by the sagittal plane in a first side and a second side, in which the first side is divided from the main plane into a first lip suitable for being inserted in a seat and a second lip, the second side is divided by the main plane into a third lip and a fourth lip, and the first lip is rounded and normally extends to the sagittal plane less than the second lip, and the second lip defines a free end including an edge.
Filter-gasket assembly with seal and placement indicator for sterilization rigid container
Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a sealing assembly including a gasket and a sheet of filter material. The sealing assembly seals a lid to a seal rim of a base. The gasket has an upper surface, outer edge, and inner edge. The upper surface of the gasket comprises a first row of alternating protrusions and indentations and a second row of alternating protrusions and indentations that define a channel therebetween. The sheet of filter material extends from an inner edge of the gasket. The gasket completely surrounds the sheet of filter material, wherein the indentations and channel facilitate delivery of a sterilization agent through the filter material. A sterilization assembly including a lid having a plurality of protrusions in its upper surface in conjunction with a gasket having a smooth upper surface is also provided.
PROTECTIVE CONTAINER FOR STERILIZED MEDICAL IMPLANTS
A protective container for a sterilized medical implant includes a base including a hollow body having a closed end and an opened end. The base including a thread. A cap is secured about the opened end of the hollow body. The cap includes a thread that cooperates with the thread provided on the base such that relative rotation of the base and the cap causes relative axial movement of the base and the cap. A sealing member is compressed between the base and the cap to provide a seal therebetween as a result of relative axial movement of the base and the cap.
Disposable gasket-filter assembly with seal integrity indication for sterilization container with slidable lock handles
The sheet of filter material extends from an inner edge of the gasket, and the gasket completely surrounds the sheet of filter material. The upper surface of the gasket comprises a plurality of indentations that define channels to facilitate delivery of a sterilization agent through the filter material. A sterilization assembly including a lid having a plurality of protrusions in its upper surface and a sliding-lock system for sealing and locking the lid to a container base is also provided.
STRESS-ABSORBING BUFFER ZONE FOR SEALED TRAY
A package includes a tray and a cover configured to seal an open end of the tray when the cover is assembled onto the tray. The tray has a flange extending about a periphery at the open end of the tray. A continuous barrier seal is formed between the flange and the cover when the cover is assembled onto the tray, and a discontinuous sacrificial seal is also formed between the flange and the cover when the cover is assembled onto the tray. The discontinuous sacrificial seal is configured to absorb stress applied to the flange. The continuous barrier seal is disposed closer to an inner periphery of the flange than the discontinuous sacrificial seal. Holes are formed on the corners of the flange, and the holes are spaced apart from the discontinuous sacrificial seal.
Sheath for a Medical Device
A sheath for an oximetry device includes a top and a body where the top opens to provide an opening where the oximetry device can be placed into the body of the sheath. The top of the sheath can be closed onto the body and the closure of the top can be verified by circuits in the oximetry device. The circuits can monitor the position of a latch that is connected to the top of the sheath. The circuits can determine when the latch is unlatched and the top is open and not sealed closed to the body. And, the circuits can determine when the latch is latched and the top is closed and sealed to the body.
Testicular Volume Measuring Device
A testicular volume measuring device has a container, a lid, a sealing ring, and a plurality of indicia. The lid is removably attached atop the container, and the plurality of indicia is positioned on a lateral wall of the container, which is constructed of a transparent material and delineates an internal cavity. The lid has multiple lid members, which are removably attached to each other. The lid members have cutouts which form a central aperture on the lid, within which the sealing ring is secured during use. One or more testicles may be placed through the sealing ring, around which the lid members are affixed, and the lid is attached atop the container. Fluid volume measurements using the indicia before and after placement of the testicles into a quantity of fluid contained within the cavity enable measurement of the volume of the testicles through fluid displacement.
RIGID STERILIZATION CONTAINER WITH REPLACEABLE FILTER ASSEMBLIES
Sterilization containers, components, and methods thereof. A locking mechanism is used to secure and release a filter assembly on a sterilization container includes two opposing buttons that, when compressed toward each other, unlock the locking mechanism and, when released, secure the locking mechanism.
