SYSTEM FOR OPENING AND/OR CLOSING A LID OF A CONTAINER CONTAINING MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IN A STERILE PROCESSING DEPARTMENT
A system for opening and/or closing a lid of a container containing medical equipment in a sterile processing department, the system comprises: a gripper for opening and/or closing the lid of the container, one or more motorized conveyor elements configured to receive said container at a first container position and convey said container along a longitudinal axis towards the gripper. The system is configured to align the container with the gripper by conveying the container from the first container position to a second container position using the one or more motorized conveyor elements, move a first gripper element and a second gripper element from a first gripper position to a second gripper position, whereby the first gripper element or the second gripper element contacts the container at a side surface of the container and moves the container to a third container position.
Tools and instruments for use with implantable encapsulation devices
Embodiments herein describe tools and instruments for holding, transferring, delivering, deploying an implantable device and methods and means of aseptically storing and shipping the implantable device including but not limited to a device case for protecting, housing and filling the device, a surgical sizer for preparing the implantable site, a deployer for transferring the implantable device from the device case and delivering or deploying the implantable device at the prepared implantable site.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH SLIP RING ASSEMBLY TO POWER ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER
A surgical instrument includes a rotatable electrical coupling assembly having a first part and a second part that electrically couple and rotate relative to each other. The second part is carried by and rotates with a tube collar coupled to a transducer. A portion of the transducer is inserted through an aperture of the second part, but does not contact the second part. The first part of the assembly may electrically couple to the second part via pogo pins, brush contacts, or ball bearings. Alternatively, the first part may comprise conductive channels formed in the casing. The second part may comprise a rotatable drum with a conductive trace. In some versions, one or more components may comprise MID components. In another version, the rotatable electrical coupling assembly comprises a rotatable PC board and brush contact. Further still, a circuit board may be provided with the transducer inside a transducer casing.
Medical or emergency package and method of use thereof
A portable emergency or medical package has: a body; a plurality of compartments for housing medical supplies, and a compartment for communication device, providing real time two-way communication between a user of the package and a communication appliance remote from the package, wherein the communication device is detachable from the remainder of the package. A method of delivering a package of emergency or medical supplies to a desired location provides control over the use of the medical supplies by a remote person. At the desired location, a user is instructed to remove the communication device from the package, which enables the provision of real time two-way audio communication between a remote person and the user and at least one way video communication to the remote person, whereby the remote person can provide instructions and directions to the user.
ANNULAR SEAL
A annular gasket defining a circumferential extension trajectory lying on a main plane, a section plane normal to the extension trajectory and to the main plane, and sagittal plane tangent to the extension trajectory and normal to the main plane, and including a profile defining on the section plane an X shape divided by the sagittal plane in a first side and a second side, in which the first side is divided from the main plane into a first lip suitable for being inserted in a seat and a second lip, the second side is divided by the main plane into a third lip and a fourth lip, and the first lip is rounded and normally extends to the sagittal plane less than the second lip, and the second lip defines a free end including an edge.
Allergy skin test applicator
An allergy testing kit contains a plurality of allergy testing applicators, an allergy testing tray and a plurality of allergen bottles each containing an allergen. Each of the applicators contains an elongated handle, a plurality of arms extending from the elongated handle and disposed in an asymmetrical configuration, and a plurality of legs with tines extending from each of the arms. The allergy testing tray contains a main body having an underside and a top surface, a cover for locking with the main body and a plurality of reservoirs extending from the underside of the main body. The reservoirs each have a chamber with an opening extending from the top surface. The reservoirs are disposed in different groups and each group has an asymmetrical configuration matching that of the applicator.
Sheath for a Medical Device
A sheath for an oximetry device includes a top and a body where the top opens to provide an opening where the oximetry device can be placed into the body of the sheath. The top of the sheath can be closed onto the body and the closure of the top can be verified by circuits in the oximetry device. The circuits can monitor the position of a latch that is connected to the top of the sheath. The circuits can determine when the latch is unlatched and the top is open and not sealed closed to the body. And, the circuits can determine when the latch is latched and the top is closed and sealed to the body.
MEDICAL OR EMERGENCY PACKAGE AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
An assembly for forming a portable emergency or medical package has: a main body; and a plurality of modules with fasteners that enable the main body and the modules to be fastened together in different combinations, to form the package. A plurality of compartments for housing medical supplies, and a compartment for communication device, providing real time two-way communication between a user of the package and a communication appliance remote from the package are provided. The communication device is detachable from the remainder of the package.
Cam driven coupling between ultrasonic transducer and waveguide in surgical instrument
A surgical instrument includes a body assembly, a waveguide, a transducer, and a coupling assembly. In some versions the coupling assembly translates the transducer to couple the transducer to the waveguide. For instance, a gear having arcuate troughs may engage pins on the transducer and/or waveguide to mate the transducer to waveguide. A pawl may selectively engage and prevent rotation of the gear. Alternatively, lever arms may cam the transducer into the waveguide. The lever arms may selectively couple to a casing to prevent decoupling of the transducer and waveguide. In another configuration, a locking tab can be slid and locked into a slot to couple the transducer and waveguide. Further still, levers with self-locking pins may engage and couple the transducer to the waveguide. In another version, a rotatable body portion may engage a tab on the transducer to rotate and couple the transducer to the waveguide.
