Packaging container and method of making and using the same
The present application is directed to a packaging container including a body including; a first portion including a coupling feature; a second portion including a coupling feature and complementary to the first portion; and a hinge portion coupling the first portion to the second portion adapted to move the packaging container from an open position to a closed position around a product, where the first portion and the second portion combine to form a void port in the closed position.
Needle harvesting devices, systems and methods
A suturing system including an elongate distal member and an elongate proximal member proximal the elongate distal member, the elongate proximal member having a lumen. A needle deployment actuator extends to the elongate distal member and is configured to initiate proximal movement of a needle toward an opening of the elongate proximal member. A guide is disposed within the elongate proximal member, a perimeter of the guide forming a plurality of needle receiving gaps that, when viewed in cross-section, are circumferentially spaced about the deployment actuator with a portion of the guide disposed between adjacent needle receiving gaps extending outwardly towards a wall of the lumen of the elongate proximal member.
Staple cartridge comprising lubricated staples
A staple cartridge comprising staples that are lubricated before they are loaded into the staple cartridge and after they have been loaded into the staple cartridge is disclosed.
Sterile stand for supporting surgical instruments
A sterile stand for supporting surgical instruments or medical tools such as needles, cannulas, syringes and an injection needle assembly. The stand includes a base member having one or more support tubes extending upwardly therefrom. The support tube is configured to receive a portion of the surgical instrument extending downwardly thereinto. The base member also has a receptacle positioned thereon for receiving an injection needle assembly therein. The base member is configured to receive the lower end of one or more syringes.
Biopsy device
A handheld biopsy device is provided which includes an elongate base having a slider movable relative thereto between a stowed condition and at least one operative condition. An elongate blade which is resiliently flexible in its length is secured between the base and the slider such that with the slider in the stowed condition the blade extends generally parallel to the base, and with the slider in the at least one operative condition the blade flexes away from the base into a bowed shape.
Sterile stand for supporting surgical instruments
A sterile stand for supporting surgical instruments or medical tools such as needles, cannulas, syringes and injection needle assemblies. The stand includes a solid housing having upper and lower ends. The housing has a plurality of openings and bores formed therein which are configured to receive surgical instruments or medical tools therein.
Orthopaedic instrument system including an instrument caddy and method for assembling a surgical instrument
An orthopaedic instrument system including an instrument caddy is disclosed. The instrument caddy is configured to receive one or more cutting broaches to house the cutting broaches between orthopaedic surgical procedures. The instrument caddy is also configured to be used during a surgical procedure to assist a user in assembling the cutting broach with another surgical instrument. A method of assembling a surgical instrument is also disclosed.
NEUROMONITORING SUPPLY KIT
The invention is generally directed to the novel and unique medical supply kit that is used for housing medical supplies for the rendering of medical care, such as neuromonitoring. The supply kit is also configured for receiving and containing used needles until they can be disposed of properly at the end of the surgical procedure. Also, the supply kit is reconfigurable to provide a device stand, such as for supporting a laptop, and the like. Further, the supply kit may be provided in different embodiment configurations to provide flexibility in implementation of the present invention, namely the configuration for converting the device into a needle collection vessel. The supply kit is inexpensive to manufacture, compact, easy to transport and store, and is easy to use. Therefore, the present invention provides a new and novel medical supply kit that is far superior to known kits.
Protective packaging with mounting and removal function
A protective packaging for sharp-edged objects is disclosed. The protective packaging generally has two shell parts connected pivotally on one side in the area of a pivot axis. At least one of the shell parts forms a first receiving space that is configured to receive an object and provide a free space between for the shell parts and the object, and a second receiving area configured to hold the object in a form-fitting manner. A third receiving space adjacent the second receiving area provides sufficient space for connection of a tool carrier to the object. The protective packaging is therefore designed as a mounting and removal tool rotatable around its longitudinal axis, and the object contained in the protective packaging can be mounted on and removed from any tool holder together with the protective packaging without contact with the hand.
AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN SURGICAL IMPLANTS ...
An article of manufacture such as surgical steel suspends an elongated antenna radiator above the surface of the steel. The steel surface acts as a ground plane that increases transmission/reception efficiency of the suspended radiator at UHF frequencies. Other embodiments support building reconfigurable surgical trays and the population of same with surgical instruments through a mixed or virtual reality human-machine interface to generate Centerline Gerber/Plot File data for Computer Numerical Control production and Human and/or Robotic Assembly of reconfigurable (or non-reconfigurable) Surgical Trays and the Human and/or Robotic population of Instruments in the Surgical Tray. Example applications include the use of the original Surgical Implant, Surgical Instrument, Surgical Tray, and other related Asset design and manufacturing databases including lot control for pre-populating a digital catalog/database that is used for both Human and Machine Surgical Set assembly and disassembly. Also, this same process may take as input high-resolution imagery and physical attribute capture of Assets to create a next-best-than original facsimile to the original design database and reconstitute a design database from this facsimile
