STRIP PACKAGE FOR ANTISEPTIC CAP
A syringe assembly includes (1) a syringe barrel defining a chamber; (2) a plunger mounted in the chamber and moveable with respect to the barrel; and (3) a cap assembly containing a cap and an absorbent material is removably attached to the plunger. A strip package includes at least two cap assemblies. Each of the cap assemblies includes a cap holder and an antiseptic cap positioned in the cap holder. The antiseptic cap includes a sidewall defining a chamber and an antiseptic substance within the chamber. A strip extends over at least two cap assemblies. The strip includes a first seal engaged to the cap holder and a second seal engaged to the antiseptic cap.
Disposable container for surgical instruments
A single use disposable container for surgical instruments is provided for transporting sterile instruments to the point of use. The single use container comprises a base section having a base and an upstanding wall extending from the base. A lid section is provided that is configured to close the base section. The container is formed from a biodegradable thermoformed pulp material that is gas and steam permeable. At least the base section includes a surfactant proof barrier on at least the inner surface of the pulp material to protect the pulp material of the container from cleaning fluid applied to the instruments. The lid includes a double walled rim that assists in protecting the instruments stored therein.
Tray for temporary storage of catheters and other coiled surgical devices
A storage tray provides storage for multiple types of wires, catheters, and other instruments used during surgical procedures. The storage tray includes a base and a set of walls forming a basin that holds liquid. A wire containment section within the basin holds multiple coiled guidewires in a wire channel filled with the liquid. The wire containment section includes an inner wall and one or more wall segments forming an outer boundary of the wire channel. Flaps extend orthogonally from the walls and over portions of the wire channel to prevent the guidewire from springing out of the wire channel. A wire holder outside the wire channel holds end portions of the guidewires. Pulling an end portion of one of the coiled guidewires horizontally causes the guidewire to slide along the inner wall for separation and removal from the storage tray.
Conditioning medical equipment
A method for conditioning a flexible medical endoscope (10) having internal channels (12), so as to maintain disinfection of said endoscope (10) following processing to a state of high level disinfection, comprises the steps of: (a) connecting the internal channels (12) of the endoscope (10) to connectors (31-34) enabling fluid communication with a reservoir (24) of disinfectant fluid (25); (b) charging the internal channels (12) with disinfectant fluid (25) from the reservoir (24); (c) disconnecting the internal channels (12) from the connectors (31-34); (d) sealing the endoscope (10) in a pouch (56) having a substantially air-tight seal (57) and a valve (55) enabling connection to suction means (53); and (e) connecting and activating the suction means (53) so as substantially to reduce pressure within the pouch (56), thereby partially evacuating the pouch (56).
PACKAGING SYSTEM FOR OXYGEN-SENSITIVE DRUGS
Described herein are pharmaceutical packaging systems which prevent oxidative degradation of oxygen-sensitive drugs, such systems including a primary packaging container with an oxygen permeable component, a secondary packaging with very low permeability to oxygen and an oxygen absorber.
SELF SAMPLING UNIVERSAL KIT, METHODS AND USE
The present invention relates to a self-sampling kit and method for the universal sampling of at least one specimen such as a cell, cell residue, DMA, RNA, protein, virus, bacterium, parasite or fungus from the vaginal and/or rectal cavities of humans and animals, said kit comprising a self-sampling cloth (10) made of a flexible fabric with an absorbancy of 3.5 g/g or less and a sealable recipient (50) for storing and transporting said sampling cloth (10). The present invention also relates to the use of the self-sampling cloth (10) for self-sampling of at least one specimen from bodily cavities of humans and animals, for instance for diagnosing an STI, such as an HPV infection.
PACKAGE FOR STORING, PRE-PROCESSING, HANDLING, AND DELIVERING A MEDICAL DEVICE TO A SURGICAL SITE
A package for a medical device includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is adapted to support a medical device having a receiving area. The second portion has an area that is adapted to be aligned with the receiving area of the medical device supported in the first portion. The area of the second portion can be deformed to move a medical material into the receiving area of the medical device. A method of providing a medical device with a medical material includes the steps of: (a) providing a package including a first portion containing a medical device; (b) providing a medical material; and (c) deforming a second portion of the package to move the medical material into or onto the medical device.
