METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTRAOPERATIVE MEASUREMENTS OF ANATOMICAL ORIENTATION US CONTINUATION APPLICATION
Electronic devices that detect their position and/or orientation with respect to earth's frame of reference are described. A coupler can removeably maintain the electronic devices in physical proximity of one another. Each electronic device can have a housing and the coupler can be included on the housing and arranged to physically connect the housing of the electronic device to the housing of at least one other electronic device. Alternatively, the coupler can be a packaging that maintains the electronic devices in physical proximity of one another. Each electronic device can be calibrated using the orientation or position information obtained by other electronic devices maintained by the coupler. Further, each electronic device can include a power source that remains inactive until the device is ready for use.
MEDICAL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A MEDICAL ARTICLE AND A PACKAGE CONTAINING SAID ARTICLE
The invention relates to a medical assembly, preferably a sterilized one, comprising a medical article (5) and a package containing said article, said package comprising a hollow support element (2) inside which said article (5) is free, a first protective element (3), called a stopper, which can be coupled to the support element (2) of said article, such that the support element (2) has a grip part (20) that protrudes from said stopper (3), and a second hollow protective element (4), called a cover. Said cover can be coupled to the stopper (3) in such a way as to delimit, in cooperation with said stopper (3), a chamber (8) inside which there extends said grip part (20) of the support element, and, in the state when the cover is coupled to the stopper, a part of the stopper (3) protrudes from the cover (4).
PACKAGE, PREFERABLY MEDICAL, AND CORRESPONDING SET OF PACKAGES
The invention relates to a package (2; 3) for an object, preferably a medical object, the package comprising a bottom shell (21; 31); a top shell (22; 32) having a closure portion (24; 34) referred to as a cap, and a connection portion (23; 33) in the form of a hollow body and connected to the closure portion (24) by a hinge (25) to enable the closure portion (24; 34) to tilt relative to the connection portion (23; 33) in order to release access to the inside of the bottom shell (21; 31) through the connection portion (23; 33). The connection portion (23; 33) is provided with a stiffener element (290; 390) and a sealing strip (4; 4) connects together the edges (241, 231) of the cap (24; 34) and of the connection portion (23; 33) that face each other over the entire length of said edges. Said connection portion (23; 33) of the top shell (22; 32) and of the bottom shell (21; 31) are two parts that are fastened to each other, preferably by bonding.
METHOD FOR PREPARING IMPLANTABLE DEVICE FOR USE
An apparatus including a sterilizable tray having a base and at least one fixture connected to the tray adapted for removably securing an implant insertion device to the tray. The tray can be free of a first wall portion for permitting the proximal end of an implantable device to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device for coupling to the implant insertion device and can be free of a second wall portion for permitting a tool to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device so as to threadedly couple the implant insertion device to the implantable device. Related methods and apparatus are provided.
Modular Tray and Bracket Assembly for Equipment Sterilization
The present disclosure provides advantageous tray and bracket assembly that is configured and adapted to promote modularity and withstand the harsh environment of central sterile processing processes. Modular bracket assembly may be removed and relocated on tray without additional fasteners or components. Tray and bracket assembly may further provide identification features to correctly associate cataloged reusable medical devices to identified trays.
Storage kit and assembly
The present invention relates to a kit and an assembly for the storage and transportation of medical equipment including endoscopes, as well as a method for storing and transporting endoscopes. In particular, the present invention relates to a support tray (1) for endoscopes, a barrier sheet (264, 764, 864, 967 and 978) and a kit for the transportation of endoscopes comprising a support tray and barrier sheet. A kit for the transportation and storage of an endoscope comprises a rigid support tray and barrier means. The rigid support tray comprises a base plate (2, 102, 902) having opposing first and second sides; a plurality of guide walls (4, 104, 904) projecting from the first side of the base plate, the guide walls arranged to define areas for placement of parts of said endoscope on the first side of the base plate; a plurality of support members (10, 110, 910) extending from the second side of the base plate, the support members being arranged such that when two trays are stacked on top of each other, the arrangement of the support members is such that, in a first orientation the two base plates are separated by a first distance and in a second orientation the two base plates are separated by a second distance, the second distance being greater than the first distance; and retaining members (931) extending from an edge region of the support tray. The barrier means comprises a flexible sheet including a liner portion (276, 767, 967) for providing, in use, a barrier layer between the support tray and said endoscope, the flexible sheet including retaining means for engagement with the retaining members (941, 945) of the support tray to retain the sheet in contact with the tray.
