A modular storage system is described for storing and/or shielding a hypodermic needle which includes a modular needle container element for storing and/or shielding a hypodermic needles. The system includes a compartment for storing the needle, defined by first and second walls configured to be end walls, and a front wall and a rear wall extending between the first and second walls; each of the first and second walls has an outer surface directed away from the compartment, and each of the first and second walls include either a male connector on the outer surface of the wall or a female connector extending through the wall. The male connector includes a clip arm and the female connector includes a slot, such that the male connector is configured for engagement in a snap-fit manner to the female connector in the first or second wall of a second container element.

Packaging systems, surgical kits and methods are disclosed for a tool including a working portion and a shank. The packaging system includes a casing with a distal section defining a cavity configured to receive the working portion, and a proximal section removably coupled to the distal section and being configured to receive the shank of the tool. A sleeve is retained by the distal section and is disposed within the cavity of the distal section. The sleeve defines a lumen adapted to receive the working portion. The sleeve is configured to rotate within the distal section to facilitate rotational installation of the tool relative to a surgical device.

The present invention relates to packaging and in particular, to sterile packaging that is configured to be self-stackable and interlocking. A sterile packaging comprising a packaging compartment provided having one open face through which the compartment may be filled, the open face forms a sterile sealing face that is to be sealed with and receive a sterile barrier. The package features at least one coupling interface along an external surface having male to female couplers configured to facilitate piggy-back coupling between two packaging.

A screen basket for the preparation of medical instruments. The screen basket having a substantially rectangular base area and an open upper side. The screen basket including: a first container part and a second container part, the first container part and the second container part each being open at an end face and each comprise a screen-like wall, the first container part being configured for insertion into the second container part; and at least one locking pin configured to be pushed through each of two or more push-through openings provided in one or more of the first container part and the second container part, the at least one locking pin selectively locking the first container part and the second container part together in at least two different positions with respect to each other.

A method for organizing surgical instruments and supplies in an operating room in preparation for surgery using a system having two tray devices where a first tray articulates in relation to a second tray. Each tray includes at least one flat work surface disposed in a first reference plane and at least one recessed compartment comprising a bottom surface disposed parallel to the first reference plane and offset therefrom at a first negative offset distance.

A medical sterile packaging unit for a sterile-packaged medical product, in particular for a filter module, including a primary packaging with at least one sterile-packaged and hermetically sealed medical product inside it, at least one nestable tray, with a plurality of inserts for each of the medical products packaged in the primary packaging, and at least one sleeve which wraps around the at least one tray with the primary-packaged medical products contained in it.

A method and system for organizing surgical instruments and supplies in an operating room in preparation for surgery using a system having two tray devices. Each tray includes at least one flat work surface disposed in a first reference plane; an edge feature surrounding the at least one flat work surface, the edge surface standing proud at a predetermined first positive offset distance from the first reference plane, the edge feature comprising at least a work-surface-side wall intersecting the at least one flat work surface at substantially about 90-degrees at a top surface coupled to the work-surface side wall, wherein the top surface disposes generally parallel to the first reference plane and is further defining the first positive offset distance measured from the reference plane; and at least one recessed compartment comprising a bottom surface disposed parallel to the first reference plane and offset therefrom at a first negative offset distance.
