CHINGED LONG SEALED TRAY AND METHOD
A packaging assembly comprising an outer tray and a lid coupled to the outer tray. The lid and the outer tray define a sterile cavity therein. The packaging assembly further includes an inner tray housing a delivery system within the sterile cavity. The outer tray includes a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a hinged portion coupling the proximal portion to the distal portion. To aseptically present the inner tray for removal from the outer tray, the lid is partially or completely removed. The proximal portion is then bent downward to expose the inner tray for removal.
Ring-Handled Instrument Stringer Rack and Method
A rack and U-shaped stringers for use in stringing of ring-handled medical instruments in preparation for at least one of an assembly operation, an assembly count operation, a storage procedure, a decontamination operation, a sterilization process, and/or a disinfection operation, involving such instruments.
Portable workstation for healthcare professionals
A workstation assembly that can be collapsed into a portable container. The portable container has a first section and second section that can be selectively joined and separated. A lift mechanism is provided that interconnects the first section and the second section. The lift mechanism has an extended configuration and a compressed configuration. When in its extended configuration, the lift mechanism separates the first section from the second section of the portable container by a selected distance. Conversely, when in its compressed configuration, the lift mechanism causes the first section to abut against the second section along a common seam. Wheels are connected to the portable container so that the portable container can roll. A handle is also connected to the container for pulling the container on wheels.
Elongate Implant Containing a Structurally Encoded Pin, Carrier and Reading System Therefor
A carrier for retaining a plurality of implants each comprising a structurally encoded pin, the structurally encoded pin having a shape or surface characteristics discernable by an imaging modality such as x-ray, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, electromagnetic radiation, ultrasound, visible light, UV light, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and neutron imaging, from outside the carrier, the shape or surface characteristics representing structurally encoded data. The invention further discloses a carrier for viewing a plurality of implants, and associated reading systems for reading a plurality of implants. Finally, the invention discloses methods for reading a plurality of implantable devices retained within a carrier.
Method of Producing an Elongate Implant Containing a Structurally Encoded Pin Through Electrical Discharge Machining
An implant and method for manufacturing an implant comprising an implant body defining a longitudinal axis and a structurally encoded pin contained within the implant body and aligned substantially along the longitudinal axis, the structurally encoded pin having a shape or surface characteristics discernable by an imaging modality such as x-ray, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, electromagnetic radiation, ultrasound, visible light, UV light, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and neutron imaging, from outside the implant body, the shape or surface characteristics representing structurally encoded data. The structurally encoded pin is encoded via an electric discharge machining process.
Bone compression system and associated methods
Systems and associated methods for repairing first and second bone fragments include a bone compression device characterized by an elongated fastener and an anchor. The fastener includes an externally-threaded shank, an enlarged head, and a bore extending through both. The anchor includes an internally-threaded bore configured to receive the threaded shank of the fastener at a first end of the anchor, and an enlarged shoulder at a second end. The fastener inserts fittedly into a first bore formed in the first and second bone fragments, with the head engaging a rim of the first bore. The anchor inserts fittedly into a second bore formed in the second bone fragment, the anchor shoulder engaging a rim of the second bore. During compression of the bone segments, a small space is maintained between the second end of the anchor and an intersection of the first bore and the second bore.
MODULAR SHARPS CONTAINER SYSTEM
Methods and apparatus for a modular sharps container system. A system includes a first half shell sharps container, the first half shell sharps container comprising a flat back panel including a first set of attachment features, and a second half shell sharps container, the second half shell sharps container comprising a flat back panel including a second set of attachment features, the first set of attachment features of the flat back panel of the first half shell sharps container detachably joined to the second set of attachment features of the flat back panel of the second half shell sharps container.
External case for a wearable medical device
A case for a wearable medical device is provided. The wearable medical device includes internal circuitry enclosed within an external housing. The case includes a first part sized to surround a first portion of the external housing and a second part sized to surround a second portion of the external housing. The first part includes an inner surface with contours configured to receive corresponding contours of the external housing. The first part is connected to the second to form a parting line around the external housing. An assembly including a wearable medical device and an external case is also provided.
TRAY FOR HOLDING STERILIZATION TARGETS
Disclosed embodiments include a tray configured for holding various sterilization targets. The tray may include a perforated floor member connected to a plurality of vertically oriented walls, which may also be perforated. Together, the floor member and walls define an internal cavity that includes at least one wire support for removably holding at least one sterilization target, such as a medical instrument and/or implant or components thereof, within the internal cavity. Each wire support may include two end inserts and a middle portion, the two inserts secured via connection means to one or more walls of the tray. The connection means may comprise mounting fixtures that further include a plurality of receiving slots or holes each configured to receive an insert. The wire supports may increase sterilant flow and circulation, thereby improving sterilization of instruments and/or implants held within the tray disclosed herein.
RECOVERY AND PROCESSING OF HUMAN EMBRYOS FORMED IN VIVO
A kit having instructions for use for performing uterine lavage in a female patient includes a uterine lavage catheter configured for insertion into a woman's uterus to remove viable blastocysts from the uterus, and one or more first containers having a sufficient dosage amount of a GnRH antagonist to cause desynchronization of the endometrium of the patient prior to, during and/or following recovery of viable blastocysts from the uterus.
