Proximal loaded disposable loading unit for surgical stapler
A loading unit removably loadable into a surgical instrument positioned within a body of a patient having an elongated member, first and second jaws at a distal portion and a firing mechanism movable within the elongated member to effect firing of fasteners into the tissue clamped between the first and second jaws. The loading unit is insertable into a proximal opening of the instrument and through a lumen in the shaft of the instrument while the instrument is positioned in the body of the patient. The first and second jaws extend distally of the shaft of the instrument and the loading unit is actuable by the instrument. A surgical instrument to receive the loading unit and a method for reloading the instrument are also provided.
Device and method for the application of a curable fluid composition to a portion of a bodily organ
Disclosed are devices and methods suitable for application of a curable fluid composition to a bodily organ, such as to a lower portion of a bodily organ. The device comprises a monolithic piece of material having a lower surface, two spaced-apart sides, and two spaced-apart walls connecting the two spaced-apart sides. A receptacle for containing the curable fluid composition is defined by the lower surface, the two sides, and the two walls. At least a portion of the height of the two walls is less than the height of at least a portion of the two sides. The device is deployable underneath the bodily organ such that a lower portion of the bodily organ is supported by at least a portion of each of the two walls.
HANDHELD ELECTROMECHANICAL SURGICAL SYSTEM
A surgical device includes a handle assembly, an adapter assembly configured to selectively couple to the handle assembly, an annular reload configured to selectively couple to a distal portion of the adapter assembly, and a shipping cap coupled to the annular reload and configured to detach from the annular reload in response to a movement of a trocar of the adapter assembly. The annular reload has a memory having stored therein information about the reload. The handle assembly includes a controller configured to encode to the memory an occurrence of a detachment of the shipping cap from the reload.
LOADABLE POWER PACK FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
A power pack removably loadable into a housing of a surgical instrument having a motor having a motor shaft, a rotatable disc operably connected to the motor shaft, a drive mechanism operably connected to the rotatable disc, and an engagement member linearly movable by the drive mechanism. The engagement member is configured to removably engage an axially movable member in the housing of the surgical instrument, wherein actuation of the motor causes linear movement of the engagement member to effect movement of the axially movable member in an axial direction.
LOADABLE POWER PACK FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS

The engagement member is configured to removably engage an axially movable member in the housing of the surgical instrument, wherein actuation of the motor causes linear movement of the engagement member to effect movement of the axially movable member in an axial direction.
Systems and Methods for Sterilization
Systems for sterilization of tissues, including acellular tissue matrices, comprising a package having a portion permeable to supercritical carbon dioxide and a portion impermeable to moisture are described. Methods of sterilizing acellular tissue matrices from soft tissues or demineralized bone are provided.
CONTAINER AND LID WITH MULTIPLE SEALS THEREBETWEEN AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A moisture tight container (100, 300) includes a container body (101, 301) and a lid (101, 120, 320) preferably linked to the body (101, 301) by a hinge (140, 340). The body (101, 301) and lid (101, 120, 320) include at least a first seal (462) and a second seal (464) in series to provide a moisture tight seal (460) between the body (101, 301) and the lid (101, 120, 320). The first seal (462) includes mating of thermoplastic-to-thermoplastic sealing surfaces of the body (101, 301) and lid (101, 120, 320) respectively. The second seal (464) includes mating of thermoplastic-to-elastomeric sealing surfaces of the body (101, 301) and lid (101, 120, 320), respectively, or of the lid (101, 120, 320) and body (101, 301), respectively.
