COMPOSITION FOR MOLDED FOAM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, MOLDED FOAM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND MODIFIED CELLULOSE-CONTAINING RESIN COMPOSITION FOR MOLDED FOAM

An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for a molded foam containing a peroxide and a blowing agent, in which cellulose fibers are uniformly dispersed in a resin for a foam molding material having high hydrophobicity such as a thermoplastic resin and a rubber, and a foam excellent in mechanical properties which is obtained by reaction of the composition for a molded foam during foam molding. The composition for a molded foam contains a modified cellulose fiber (A) having an unsaturated bond, a thermoplastic resin and/or a rubber (B), a peroxide (C), and a blowing agent (D).

IMPROVING THE PROPERTIES IN PMMA FOAMS BY USING METHACRYLIC AMIDES

The present invention relates to novel PMMA foams and the production thereof. Here, polymers which have been obtained by copolymerization of methacrylamides such as N-isopropylmethacrylamide and without styrene are foamed. It has surprisingly been possible to establish that a stable, simple-to-produce PMMA foam which has very good properties, e.g. a very high compressive strength, and can be joined more simply to covering layers, especially in comparison with known PMMA foams, can be obtained according to the invention.

The present invention relates to a process for foaming thermoplastic elastomers comprising a blowing agent, where the elastomer is heated by means of electromagnetic radiation to such an extent that the elastomer at least partly melts and foams to give a foam, wherein the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation is in the range from 0.01 GHz to 300 GHz. Further subject matter encompasses materials suitable for this process and the use thereof.

THERMOPLASTIC FOAM WITH CONCOMITANT EXPANSION AND CURING

A thermally expandable composition, includes between 20 and 85 wt.-% of least one thermoplastic polymer P cross-linkable by radical reaction, between 2 and 15 wt.-% of at least one azo radical initiator I, optionally up to 25 wt.-% of at least one adhesion promoter AD, up to 10 wt.-% of at least one tackifier T, up to 2.5 wt.-% of at least one antioxidant AO, and up to 2.5 wt.-% of at least one polyacrylate AC, having a molecular weight of less than 2,500 g/mol, wherein all individual amounts are based on the total composition before expansion. The thermally expandable composition is free of commonly used blowing agents such as azodicarbonamide, but shows excellent properties in terms of expansion stability over a wide temperature range between 120 C. and 200 C. and is especially suitable for baffle and/or reinforcement elements, e.g. in automotive manufacturing.

Highly dispersible metallic acrylate composition, preparation method thereof and resin composition containing the same

The present invention provides a highly dispersible metallic acrylate composition containing specific content of a graphene, a flake graphite or a combination thereof as a thermally conductive powder, and thus has better stability and dispersivity, which leads to advantages of low adhesion to the metal surface and ease of mixing in resin. Moreover, the metallic acrylate composition can be applied to resin composition as an auxiliary crosslinking coagent for enhancing mechanical strength and good uniformity of cell dispersion in the foamed product, such that the foamed products can be used as architectural materials, materials of daily commodities, vehicle materials, damping and cushioning materials, packing materials, sport pad materials, or shoe materials.

METHOD FOR MAKING FAUX WOOD MATERIAL WITH MULTILAYER PATTERN EFFECT AND MIXED PLASTIC MATERIAL FOR USE IN THE METHOD

A method for making a faux wood material with a multilayer pattern effect and a mixed plastic material for use in the method involve: performing a compounding process on a thermoplastic elastomer material, a hard-segment-structure material and a foaming agent to form the mixed plastic material; performing through an extruder a first foaming process on the mixed plastic material to form a preliminary sheet having a density equal to 10% to 20% of the density of the mixed plastic material and a thickness of 1-4 mm; stacking preliminary sheets up; and performing through a hot-pressing mold a second foaming process on the stacked preliminary sheets to form the faux wood material having a density equal to 40%-50% of the density of the mixed plastic material. Accordingly, through the two foaming processes, a multilayer pattern effect can be presented on the faux wood material due to its density difference.
