Foamed silicone in wound care
A silicone foam is described that is produced in-situ at a wound site, e.g. in a wound cavity, through a multi-component system, based on a physical foaming process, wherein the gas required to form the foam structure is provided through a blowing agent independently of the curing reaction of polyorganosiloxane components of the multi-component system. Therefore, the blowing agent is provided as a distinct entity of the multi-component system that is, in particular, not the result of any chemical reaction taking place in the multi-component system. A device for producing the foam and the corresponding negative pressure wound therapy kit are also described.
Method of manufacturing a sandwich panel having an asymmetrical configuration in thickness direction
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a sandwich panel having an asymmetrical configuration in the thickness direction. This method comprises the steps of: a) providing a plate shaped assembly of a first cover part and a second cover part and between a core part of a thermoplastic material containing a suitable blowing agent, wherein the second cover part is not equal to the first cover part regarding heat transfer properties; b) heating the assembly under pressure between press tools in a press, thereby adhering the foamed core part to the first and second cover parts; c) foaming of the thermoplastic material in the core part under pressure between press tools in the press and at a foaming temperature by increasing the spacing between the press tools in a controlled manner; d) cooling the foamed sandwich panel under pressure between the press tools; e) removing the thus cooled sandwich panel from the press; and optionally f) drying the sandwich panel; wherein during step a) a first compensation part conforming to the heat transfer properties of the second cover part is positioned at the side of the first cover part and/or a second compensation part conforming to the heat transfer properties of the first cover part is positioned at the side of the second cover part, and wherein during or after step e) the first and/or second compensation parts are removed from the sandwich panel.
Heat-resistant polylactic acid continuously-extruded foamed material and preparation method thereof
An ethylene bis-12-hydroxystearamide grafted glycidyl citrate (EBH-g-ECA) and a preparation method thereof are provided; the EBH-g-ECA can be used as a multifunctional auxiliary agent in a polymer material, and particularly has a chain extension and a crystal nucleation effect in a polyester polymer material. A heat-resistant polylactic acid continuously-extruded foamed material containing EBH-g-ECA is further provided. The continuous foaming technology can be realized by using the heat-resistant polylactic acid foamed material, and the prepared foamed product has a high heat resistance, a uniform appearance, a low density, and complete biodegradation. A polylactic acid foamed material preparation method for a heat-resistant is provided, which is easy to be industrialized and has a great significance for realizing the large-scale replacement of petroleum-based plastic disposable foamed products such as PP and PS.

Polysaccharide adhesive
The present invention relates to the use of a polysaccharide adhesive containing cold water-soluble or cold water-swelling, covalently cross-linked starch as a binder together with a foam generator for producing an adhesive foam.
Polyurethane and polyisocyanurate rigid foams suitable for roofing insulation
Polyurethane foams having a NFPA 101 Class B rating (ASTM E-84) which pass the FM 4450 Calorimeter Test are produced by reacting: (a) an organic polyisocyanate, (b) at least one polyether polyol or polyester polyol with a nominal hydroxyl functionality of at least 2.0, (c) a blowing agent composition and (d) at least one halogen-free flame retardant. The blowing agent composition includes: (1) no more than 10% by weight, based on total weight of the foam-forming composition, of one or more hydrocarbons having an LEL less than 2% by volume in air, and/or (2) a hydrocarbon having an LEL greater than 2% by volume in air, and (3) up to 1% by weight, based on total weight of foam-forming composition, of water.
FORMULATED WATERBORNE POLYURETHANE DISPERSION COMPOSITION FOR STABLE AMBIENT-DRIED FOAMS
Foamable waterborne dispersions which form stable flexible foams under ambient cure conditions are disclosed, said foamable waterborne dispersions comprising: a polyurethane polymer formed from one or more aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate and at least two different polymeric polyol components selected from polyether polyol, polyester polyol, and polycarbonate polyol; wherein the ambient cure conditions include a temperature of from 4 C. to 32 C., and a humidity of 0% relative humidity to 90% relative humidity. Also disclosed are the flexible foams produced from the foamable waterborne dispersions, as well as methods of providing a space filling layer or space filling volume adjacent to or on a surface, said methods comprising applying to said surface a foamed sample of the foamable waterborne dispersions, and allowing the foamed sample of foamable waterborne dispersion to dry under ambient conditions to yield a stable flexible foam.
