Method for producing siloxanes containing glycerin substituents
The invention relates to a method for producing siloxanes that have glycerin modifications and, at the same time, hydrophobic substituents. The invention further relates to a siloxane that has glycerin modifications and also hydrophobic side chains, wherein at least some of the glycerin modifications bear ketal groups, and to the use of said new siloxanes.
Low VOC Polyurethane Adhesive
A low-VOC, two-component polyurethane adhesive is provided. The polyurethane adhesive has an A-side that includes an isocyanate and a non-reactive plasticizer, and a B-side that includes an aliphatic polyester polyol, a non-polyester polyol, and a urethane catalyst. The A-side and the B-side are reacted at a volume ratio of 1:1 and formulated at an NCO/OH index within the range of 0.90 to 1.10. The polyurethane adhesive is solvent-free and is particularly suitable for adhering a polymeric membrane to a substrate.
CROSSLINKING AGENTS
The present disclosure describes crosslinking agents derived from glycerol and/or waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) of Formula I and Formula II which may find use in various polymer applications, including as an additive in personal care products.

ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS BASED ON GRAFTED RESINS
A curable adhesive that is particularly well suited for use in an injection or compression molding operation. The adhesive is based on polymeric resins having carboxylic acid and acrylate ester functionality, such as grafted phenoxy resin, and further constituents such as organic carbonates, blocked isocyanates, catalysts, maleimide compounds, hydride sources, and a carrier fluid. The curable adhesives are particularly well suited for bonding liquid injectable substrates such as liquid silicone rubber, or polyamides to rigid substrates, such as aluminum, stainless steel, or glass.

ELECTROLESS NICKEL PLATING OF SILICONE RUBBER
According to the present disclosure, a method for coating nickel on an organosiloxane polymer wherein the said method comprises the steps of; forming a transition metal oxide on the organosiloxane polymer; etching the transition metal oxide with a basic solution; contacting the organosiloxane polymer comprising the etched transition metal oxide with an aqueous solution comprising a positively charged species to attach the positively charged species on the etched transition metal oxide; depositing a metal catalyst on the positively charged species; and treating the metal catalyst with an acidic solution to develop an activated organosiloxane polymer before transferring the activated organosiloxane polymer to a solution comprising nickel and/or nickel derivatives. A nickel organosiloxane composite is provided herein comprising a transition metal oxide layer and a positively charged species attached on the said oxide layer with nickel coated in the said positively charged species.
