Room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition for protecting electric/electronic parts

A room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition for protecting electric/electronic parts is disclosed. The composition comprises: (A) an organopolysiloxane having a viscosity at 25 C. of 20 to 1,000,000 mPa.Math.s and having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydroxyl groups or silicon atom-bonded alkoxy groups in a molecule; (B) an alkoxysilane represented by the following general formula or a partial hydrolysis condensation product thereof: R.sup.1.sub.aSi(OR.sup.2).sub.(4-a) wherein R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 1 to 12, R.sup.2 is an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 3, and subscript a is an integer of 0 to 2; (C) a mercaptobenzothiazole based compound; (D) zinc oxide powder and/or zinc carbonate powder; and (E) a catalyst for condensation reactions. The composition and/or a cured product thereof can protect electric/electronic parts from corrosive gases such as hydrogen sulfide gas and sulfuric acid contained in the atmosphere.

Addition-curable silicone rubber composition and silicone rubber

An addition-curable silicone rubber composition which contains: 100 parts by weight of (A) an organopolysiloxane that is represented by average composition formula (1) R.sup.1.sub.aSiO.sub.(4a)/2 (wherein R.sup.1 represent monovalent hydrocarbon groups that are the same as or different from each other, and a represents a positive number of 1.5-2.8) and has at least two alkenyl groups, each of which is bonded to a silicon atom, in each molecule; 0.3-20 parts by weight of (B) an organohydrogen polysiloxane that has at least two hydrogen atoms (SiH functional groups), each of which is bonded to a silicon atom, in each molecule; 5-80 parts by weight of (C) a reinforcing silica; and (D) an addition reaction catalyst, which is configured of a platinum group metal, in an amount of 0.5-1,000 ppm relative to the total weight of the components (A) and (B). This addition-curable silicone rubber composition also contains (E) an organopolysiloxane, which has one or more SiOH functional groups in each molecule, while having a polymerization degree of 10 or less, in an amount of 0.005-0.3% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

An addition-curable silicone rubber composition which contains: 100 parts by weight of (A) an organopolysiloxane that is represented by average composition formula (1) R.sup.1.sub.aSiO.sub.(4a)/2 (wherein R.sup.1 represent monovalent hydrocarbon groups that are the same as or different from each other, and a represents a positive number of 1.5-2.8) and has at least two alkenyl groups, each of which is bonded to a silicon atom, in each molecule; 0.3-20 parts by weight of (B) an organohydrogen polysiloxane that has at least two hydrogen atoms (SiH functional groups), each of which is bonded to a silicon atom, in each molecule; 5-80 parts by weight of (C) a reinforcing silica; and (D) an addition reaction catalyst, which is configured of a platinum group metal, in an amount of 0.5-1,000 ppm relative to the total weight of the components (A) and (B). This addition-curable silicone rubber composition also contains (E) an organopolysiloxane, which has one or more SiOH functional groups in each molecule, while having a polymerization degree of 10 or less, in an amount of 0.005-0.3% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

Fluorine-free aqueous dispersions for the finishing of textile fabrics

An aqueous dispersion free of fluorochemicals comprising (A) at least one copolymer obtained by polymerization of the following monomers a) at least one fluorine-free (meth)acrylate ester of a C.sup.16-C.sup.18 alcohol, b) at least one fluorine-free (meth)acrylate ester of a C.sup.18-C.sup.22 alcohol, c) at least one monomer selected from the group of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride, and, optionally, d) at least one monomer selected from the group of 2-hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate and 3-chloro-2-hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate, (B) at least one component selected from the group of a paraffin wax, (C) at least one surfactant, and (D) water, wherein the monomers a) and b) of copolymer (A) are distinct, and the copolymer (A) does not contain any polymerized units of styrene or -methylstyrene, is useful for the finishing of natural and synthetic textile fabrics to endow the said fabrics with excellent water repellent properties.

An aqueous dispersion free of fluorochemicals comprising (A) at least one copolymer obtained by polymerization of the following monomers a) at least one fluorine-free (meth)acrylate ester of a C.sup.16-C.sup.18 alcohol, b) at least one fluorine-free (meth)acrylate ester of a C.sup.18-C.sup.22 alcohol, c) at least one monomer selected from the group of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride, and, optionally, d) at least one monomer selected from the group of 2-hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate and 3-chloro-2-hydroxyethyl(meth)acrylate, (B) at least one component selected from the group of a paraffin wax, (C) at least one surfactant, and (D) water, wherein the monomers a) and b) of copolymer (A) are distinct, and the copolymer (A) does not contain any polymerized units of styrene or -methylstyrene, is useful for the finishing of natural and synthetic textile fabrics to endow the said fabrics with excellent water repellent properties.

A polysiloxane-polyester block copolymer is provided, which comprises: (i) a siloxane resin block comprising: a siloxane unit represented by the formula: R.sup.1SiO.sub.3/2, wherein R.sub.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and comprising optionally a siloxane unit represented by the formula: SiO.sub.4/2; (ii) a siloxane linear block represented by the formula: (R.sup.2.sub.2SiO.sub.2/2).sub.n, wherein each R.sup.2 is independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and n is a positive number of at least 5; and (iii) a polyester block. The polysiloxane-polyester block copolymer can be used for a protective coating on a substrate which is made of aluminum, stainless steel, iron, plastics or glass to provide durable heat-resistance, hot hardness, release and anti-graffiti properties.
