The present disclosure provides a burr hole cover (e.g., burr hole cover) and method of manufacturing such apparatus. The burr hole cover disclosed herein may be multi-functional in that it may be used to: (a) form a burr hole which provides access to the brain, and (b) facilitate concealing the burr hole without employing any fastening devices (e.g., surgical screws, wires, etc.). In embodiments, the burr hole cover may include a sleeve having an outer surface, an inner surface, and a hollowed portion. In embodiments, the outer surface of the sleeve may define external serrations. The sleeve may be configured to create a burr hole in a skull, and the external serrations may be configured to secure the sleeve within the burr hole. The burr hole cover may also include a plate configured to fit with the sleeve and conceal the burr hole.

CRANIUM BRACING SYSTEM

A cranium bracing system includes a strut mount adapter and a bracing strut, wherein the strut mount adapter is adapted to connect the bracing strut to a cranium hole base member which is rigidly connected to a patient's cranium. The strut mount adapter includes a first connecting section with one or more engaging members configured to engage with the correspondingly formed cranium hole base member to fixedly connect the strut mount adapter to the cranium hole base member. The strut mount adapter further includes a second connecting section configured to engage with a correspondingly formed connecting section of the bracing strut to connect the strut mount adapter to the bracing strut, and a passage extending through the strut mount adapter and having a first passage opening at the first connecting section and an opposed second passage opening.

Robotic stereotactic system for MRI-guided neurosurgery

A neurosurgical robotic system for bilateral stereotaxy that integrates intraoperative MRI guidance is provided. The robotic system can be implemented in regular diagnostic MRI facilities. Navigation for bilateral brain targets can be performed independently and simultaneously. The robotic system includes a plurality of manipulators, a needle guide (31), a needle (12) disposed within the needle guide (31); and a mounting base (39) with a plurality of screw holes for bone mounting.

Cannula with proximally mounted camera and transparent obturator

A cannula system and method for accessing a blood mass in the brain. The system comprises a cannula with a camera mounted on the proximal end of the cannula with a view into the cannula lumen and the surgical field below the lumen. A prism, reflector or other suitable optical element is oriented between the camera and the lumen of the cannula to afford the camera a view into the cannula while minimizing obstruction of the lumen. The system may also include an obturator with a small diameter shaft and a large diameter tip which is optically transmissive, so that a surgeon inserting or manipulating the assembly can easily see that the obturator tip is near brain tissue (which is white) or blood (which is red).

Intermodal synchronization of surgical data

Systems and methods are provided in which local tissue diagnostic measurements are correlated with archival local tissue diagnostic data from prior tissue analyses to supplement diagnostic measurements with tissue analysis data from prior tissue analyses having similar local tissue diagnostic data. The tissue analysis data may include information such as pathology data, outcome data, and diagnosis data. The archived local tissue diagnostic data and the tissue analysis data may be stored in a database, and employed for a wide variety of methods, involving preoperative, intraoperative, and/or postoperative phases of a medical procedure. Methods and systems are also provided for displaying, on a medical image shown in a user interface, hyperlinked reference markers associated with tissue analyses, where the reference markers are shown at locations corresponding to local tissue analyses, and where associated diagnostic data and/or tissue analysis may be viewed by selecting a given reference marker.

Minimally Invasive Subdural Evacuating System
20210338277 · 2021-11-04 ·

The present invention provides minimally invasive subdural evacuating systems and methods of use thereof. The subdural evacuating systems include a cutting component and a rod component, wherein the rod component provides an external physical indicator that the surface of the dura mater has been reached, permitting the cutting component to accurately pierce the dura mater with minimal to no risk of damaging any adjacent anatomy.

CRANIAL BURR HOLE INTRODUCER FOR SURGICAL ACCESS
20230329824 · 2023-10-19 ·

A medical device for accessing soft tissue of the brain may include a delivery sleeve assembly including a sheath configured to receive a surgical access device and mate with a socket arrangement of a cranial burr hole device arranged on a patient, and a depth stop arranged on the sheath of the delivery sleeve assembly configured to be selectively adjusted along the sheath to an incremental depth marker associated with the location of a surgical site.

SURGICAL METHOD, DEVICE, SYSTEM AND KIT FOR THE TREATMENT OF HYDROCEPHALUS

Methods, devices, systems, and/or kits that encompass various components for accessing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in a CSF containing space of a subject to drain the CSF into a dural venous sinus (DVS) of the subject via a single cranial hole are disclosed herein. The described methods, devices, systems and/or kits drain the CSF into the DVS to treat hydrocephalus in a manner that does not require penetration into the gray matter of the subject’s brain.

SURGICAL SYSTEMS INCLUDING FLEXIBLE MRI-COMPATIBLE SURGICAL CATHETERS FOR TRANSFERRING A SUBSTANCE TO AND/OR FROM A BRAIN OF A PATIENT
20230310799 · 2023-10-05 ·

Surgical catheters with sufficient flexibility to deflect in response to brain shift in vivo while remaining in a target trajectory to a target in the brain have an elongate body and an exposed internal distal tip. The elongate bodies can be 0.5-10 feet long and the exposed distal tip can be provided as a tip end of a fused silica transfer tube that extends through the elongate body. The surgical catheters can be affixed to a skull using a bolt with a through channel and a bolt nut with a through channel. A distal end of the surgical catheters can extend through a guide sheath coupled to the bolt to reach the target.
