Provided is a masking sheet for chemical solution treatment, the masking sheet comprising a substrate having first and second faces, and a PSA layer placed on the first face side of the substrate. The masking sheet is constituted so that penetration of a chemical solution is visually detectable when inspected from the outer face of the masking sheet.

A label as shown and described herein. The label may include a label substrate, an adhesive adjacent the substrate, and a liner adjacent the adhesive, such that the adhesive is disposed between the label substrate and the liner, and wherein the label substrate is embossed or debossed, and the liner is not embossed or debossed.

A hot-melt adhesive resin composition includes a modified polyolefin in which a functional group is introduced into a polyolefin, a solid phenol resin, and a crosslinking agent, wherein the content of the modified polyolefin is 10 parts by mass or more and 40 parts by mass or less, based on 100 parts by mass of the total of the modified polyolefin and the solid phenol resin, and the modified polyolefin and the crosslinking agent are mixed so that a functional group possessed by the crosslinking agent is more than 1.0 equivalent and 5.0 equivalents or less, based on 1.0 equivalent of a functional group possessed by the modified polyolefin.

Silicone pressure sensitive adhesive compositions and protective films containing the same

There is provided herein a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising (A) a linear olefinically-functional polyorganosiloxane copolymer gum possessing a degree of polymerization in excess of 3,000; (B) a silicone resin including at least one M.sup.H unit and at least one Q unit; and, (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst, wherein the composition is in the substantial absence of low molecular weight siloxane having a degree of polymerization of less than 3,000 and wherein the composition has low peel adhesion to and clean removal from a substrate. There is also provided a protective film including the same as well as a method of making the protective film.

Tear resistant multilayer film

A tear resistant multilayer film including a stack of polymeric layers that includes first and second layer types. Layers of the first layer type includes a first polymer and the layers of the second layer type includes a second polymer. The first polymer is polyethylene terephthalate or a first ester block copolymer that includes polyethylene terephthalate blocks at a weight percent of the first ester block copolymer of at least 50 percent and further includes glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate blocks. The second polymer is sebacic acid-substituted polyethylene terephthalate or a second ester block copolymer that includes sebacic acid-substituted polyethylene terephthalate blocks at a weight percent of the second ester block copolymer of at least 50 percent and further includes polyethylene terephthalate blocks or glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate blocks. The tear resistant multilayer film includes a total of 8 to 300 layers of the first and second layer types.

There is provided an optical laminate with pressure-sensitive adhesive layers on both surfaces. The optical laminate comprises: a first substrate; a first low-refractive index layer formed on the first substrate; a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer arranged so as to be adjacent to the first low-refractive index layer; a second low-refractive index layer arranged so as to be adjacent to the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; a second substrate having formed thereon the second low-refractive index layer; and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and a third pressure-sensitive adhesive layer serving as outermost layers. The first low-refractive index layer and/or the second low-refractive index layer has a porosity of 50% or more, the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a storage modulus of elasticity of from 1.3×10.sup.5 (Pa) to 1.0×10.sup.7 (Pa), and the second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and/or the third pressure-sensitive adhesive layer has a storage modulus of elasticity of 1.0×10.sup.5 (Pa) or less.

An adhesive film, an optical member including the same, and an optical display apparatus including the same are provided. An adhesive film is formed of an adhesive composition including a (meth)acrylic copolymer, a curing agent, a mono- or higher functional monomer, a binder having a melting point of about 30° C. to about 60° C., and an initiator, and has a peel strength increase rate of 7.0 or more, as calculated according to Equation 1 herein.

A suspended-particle device with improved adhesion between the active and conductive layers is disclosed. The conductive layers are coated with an adhesion promoter that comprises at least one organosilane that covalently bonds to the surface of the conductive layer and comprises a cross-linkable moiety such as an acrylate. The active layer comprises a suspension of active particles in a polymer matrix that comprises a polymer having pendant cross-linkable moieties such as acrylates. Upon curing (e.g. by irradiation by ultraviolet light), the polymer matrix of the active layer cross-links with the cross-linkable moieties of the adhesion promoter, thereby binding the active and conductive layers.
