A dental aerosol protection system for controlling dispersion of aerosol and splatter particles produced during dental procedures, the system including a ring assembly, a support mask for supporting the ring assembly on a patient, and a suction generating device, the ring assembly and support mask having suction ports which are connectable to the suction generating device to provide a negative suction force around the oral cavity, wherein the ring assembly and support mask can be connected or used separately to control dispersion of aerosols depending upon the requirements of the dental procedure, and one or more flexible extensions connectable to the ring assembly and support mask extending superiorly away from the patient around and over the oral cavity, the flexible extensions forming an adjustable physical barrier between the dental professional and the patient's oral cavity.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRAOPERATIVE ISOLATION AND CONTROL OF SURGICAL SITE ENVIRONMENTS

A portable surgical system including a transparent and flexible plastic enclosure is disclosed. The enclosure is attached reversibly to the patient's body encompassing the surgical site such as to isolate and regulate the immediate environment of the surgical site, and to reduce bodily fluid splatters from the surgical site to the surgical providers. The enclosure includes an environmental control system configured to actively monitor and control the environment inside the enclosure such as to create and maintain essentially sterile conditions. The surgical systems can be used both for surgeries on a torso of a patient and on surgeries on arms or legs. The portable surgical system is lightweight and portable and can be used in con-ventional operating rooms to improve sterility, or in other circum-stances where no operating room is available, such as field hospitals and for on the field surgeries.

An apparatus includes a splash shield incorporating a clear viewing area, a vacuum manifold, the vacuum manifold adapted to releasebly engage the splash shield, and a link emanating from the vacuum manifold, the link configured to attach to a vacuum system wherein application of a vacuum creates a laminar flow to draw vapor away from the splash shield.

Patient aerosol protection

An alternative device to a mask that blocks a patient's aerosol and avoids contamination of the patient's surrounding environment is described. The device has a flexible arm that holds an aerosol disposal pipe with one side connected to a wall, a bed, or pole attached to a floor. The second side of the flexible arm is attached to a circular or elliptical pipe that covers the face of the patient. The elliptical or circular pipe comprises of two independent moving and rotating halves to create two aerosol sucking planes. The sucking function is provided by sucking fans attached to the two halves of the circular or elliptical pipes or by a remote pump. The sucked aerosol may be filtered and released to the environment or guided to a sink P-Trap or an inlet of sewer.

SAFETY SUCTION MASK AND METHOD OF USE

A mask comprising a shield forming a perimeter, one or more portal penetrations through the shield, one or more suction inlets coupled to the shield, one or more ear loops coupled to the shield and a manifold coupled to the suction inlets and configured to distribute suction force.

Relocation modules and methods for surgical field

Examples of a module for housing unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment for use during surgery. The module can include a lower section and a tower-like upper section. The lower section can house unrelated electronic and electromechanical equipment. The tower-like upper section can be located on top of the lower section. A water-resistant cowling can enclose at least a portion of the lower section and the tower-like upper section. A cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be protectively housed within the tower-like upper section. The cartridge containing one or more ultraviolet-C producing lights can be configured to emerge upward from a top of the tower-like upper section to substantially seat itself on the top of the tower-like upper section when activated allowing the ultraviolet-C light to disinfect the patient and staff-contacting upper surfaces of the equipment in the operating room.

Negative pressure chamber for patient intubation

A chamber for placement over a patient while allowing medical personnel to perform various medical procedures releasing virus, bacteria, or other contaminants, such as tracheal intubation, on the patient, including a frame forming and supporting two sidewalls and a curved center portion extending between the sidewalls of a transparent body, wherein the body includes at least one access hole, and wherein the chamber surrounds the patient's head and one of the sidewalls deforms around the patient's body in order to capture and exhaust any of the virus, bacteria, or other contaminants released by the patient during the medical procedure. A method of using the chamber of to perform a medical procedure on a patient releasing virus, bacteria, or other contaminants.
