METHOD AND APPARATUS TO ACCOUNT FOR TRANSPONDER TAGGED OBJECTS USED DURING CLINICAL PROCEDURES, EMPLOYING A TROCAR
20210338372 · 2021-11-04 ·

An apparatus for use in clinical environments. The apparatus includes a trocar, having a cannula with a proximal end and a distal end. The cannula defines a lumen therethrough that extends from the proximal end to the distal end. A proximal port at the proximal end provides access to an interior of the lumen from an exterior of the cannula. Further, a distal port at the distal end provides access to the interior of the lumen from the exterior of the cannula. At least one trocar antenna is physically coupled to the trocar and is positioned and oriented to provide wireless communications coverage to at least a portion of an interior of the lumen and to any wireless communications transponders that pass through the lumen of the cannula.

A digital loupe system is provided which can include a number of features. In one embodiment, the digital loupe system can include a stereo camera pair and a distance sensor. The system can further include a processor configured to perform a transformation to image signals from the stereo camera pair based on a distance measurement from the distance sensor and from camera calibration information. In some examples, the system can use the depth information and the calibration information to correct for parallax between the cameras to provide a multi-channel image. Ergonomic head mounting systems are also provided. In some implementations, the head mounting systems can be configurable to support the weight of a digital loupe system, including placing one or two oculars in a line of sight with an eye of a user, while improving overall ergonomics, including peripheral vision, comfort, stability, and adjustability. Methods of use are also provided.

A surgical audio and video collection device includes a processor, a video camera and a skin-touch vibration pickup. The video camera electrically connected to the processor is used to be worn on the body of the surgical operator and record video. The skin-touch vibration pickup is used to be attached on the skin of the surgical operator and sense the vibration of the skin to pick up the sound. The skin-touch vibration pickup is signally connected to the processor to transmit voice message to the processor. The voice message includes at least one of voice commands for controlling the video camera and voice tags for being added to the video recorded by the video camera.

Method of hub communication

Disclosed is a method including establishing a first communication link between a surgical visualization system outside a sterile field in an operating room and a primary display inside the sterile field, transmitting an image frame from the surgical visualization system to the primary display, establishing a second communication link between a surgical robotic hub in the operating room and the primary display, and transmitting another image frame from the surgical robotic hub to the primary display.

Electrosurgical wave generator

A portable, battery powered electrosurgical wave generator is usable in performing electrically driven medical procedures. The wave generator can be small and lightweight to enable a user to carry and use the wave generator in non-operating room type settings. The wave generator can include a control unit that generates output signals in each of a cutting mode, coagulation mode, and a bipolar mode. The control unit can use a single circuit structure to generate the output signals for the cutting, coagulation, and bipolar modes. The output signals can be generated solely from a voltage produced by an incorporated battery within the generator.
