AQUEOUS DISPERSIONS OF PARAFFIN INHIBITORS
Aqueous dispersion of paraffine inhibitors, comprising a continuous aqueous phase comprising water and a water-miscible organic solvent, a dispersed phase comprising at least one paraffin inhibitor component, and at least one anionic surfactant, methods of manufacturing such aqueous dispersions, and the use of such aqueous dispersions as paraffin inhibitor or pour point depressant for crude oil or other hydrocarbon fluids, such as fuel oils or diesel.
RENEWABLE CO-SOLVENTS FOR THERMOCHEMICAL BIO-OIL PROCESSING
Treating pyrolysis oil to yield a liquid fuel or liquid fuel precursor includes combining the pyrolysis oil with one or more co-solvents to yield a mixture, and hydrotreating the mixture to yield the liquid fuel or liquid fuel precursor. The co-solvent can include one or more alcohols. The liquid fuel can be a transportation fuel, such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, or marine fuel. The liquid fuel precursor can be a transportation fuel precursor, such as a gasoline precursor, a diesel fuel precursor, a jet fuel precursor, or a marine fuel precursor.
Application of structurally altered gas molecules for treatment of fossil fuels and biofuels
Methods and systems for fuel treatment are provided. An example method includes generating structurally altered gas molecules from water. The structurally altered gas molecules have a higher probability of attraction of electrons into areas adjunct to the structurally altered gas molecules than molecules of the water. The method further includes infusing the structurally altered gas molecules into a fuel to modify properties of the fuel, thereby increasing fuel burning efficiency.
Method of preparing cerium dioxide nanoparticles
A method of making cerium dioxide nanoparticles includes: a) providing an aqueous reaction mixture having a source of cerous ion, a source of hydroxide ion, a nanoparticle stabilizer, and an oxidant at an initial temperature no higher than about 20 C.; b) mechanically shearing the mixture and causing it to pass through a perforated screen, thereby forming a suspension of cerium hydroxide nanoparticles; and c) raising the initial temperature to achieve oxidation of cerous ion to eerie ion and thereby form cerium dioxide nanoparticles having a mean diameter in the range of about 1 nm to about 15 nm. The cerium dioxide nanoparticles may be formed in a continuous process.
Biodiesel glycerol emulsion fuel mixtures
The invention provides fuel mixtures containing biodiesel oil, glycerol, glycerol soluble compounds, surfactants and additives. The fuel mixtures are uniform, remain suspended in solution, and are resistant to phase separation. Upon combustion, the mixtures generate reduced CO, CO.sub.2, SOx, NOx and particulate matter emissions compared to petroleum fuels and offer improved engine performance over petroleum and water mixtures.
Charcoal ignition fluid
The invention relates generally to a charcoal ignition fluid that is composed of a cellulose ether polymer, butanol, and water. The charcoal ignition fluid has performance characteristics similar to petroleum distillate but is more sustainable. Additionally, the charcoal ignition fluid can include ethanol and/or an alcohol to reduce the water content. Moreover, the charcoal ignition fluid can include an acetate salt to increase the visible flame for safety purposes. The charcoal ignition fluid may also include an organic ester to enhance the odor of the ignition fluid.
Multi-Function Universal Fuel Additive
The invention relates to the field of petroleum refining and petrochemistry, and specifically to the composition of a multi-function universal additive and to a fuel composition containing said additive and intended for use in internal combustion engines, and also in boilers and furnaces. The present fuel additive contains aliphatic alcohols, water, carbamide and acetanilide Use of the proposed multi-function universal additive in the composition of fuels provides reduced specific fuel consumption, fewer harmful impurities in exhaust and waste gases (CO, CH, soot), and reduced soot formation in the combustion zone. The present additive has dispersant properties in the composition of heavy distillate and residual fuels.
Homogeneous solution of a treated fuel and oxygen from the air for use in a combustion chamber
In accordance with the present invention, a fuel/oxygen solution is provided for use in the operation of any type of combustion chamber. Operationally, the fuel/oxygen solution is created by a solvent which includes a hydrocarbon based fuel that has been treated with an electromagnetically modified ethanol additive, and a solute that includes paramagnetic oxygen molecules. Chemically, the solvent additive has increased InterMolecular Forces (IMFs) and dispersion forces for hydrocarbon molecules in a treated fuel to make these respective forces effectively comparable with IMFs and dispersion forces of a solute of paramagnetic oxygen molecules. Thus, when atomized in a combustion chamber, the treated fuel acts as a more efficient solvent for dissolving oxygen from the air, to thereby create the fuel/oxygen solution for use in the combustion chamber.
HYDRO-FUEL, METHOD OF MANUFACTURE AND METHOD OF OPERATING A DIESEL ENGINE
There is described a hydro-fuel composition of a water solution containing hydrogen, wherein the water solution has less than 1000 ppm total dissolved solids, and an oxidation reduction potential of less than 250 milliVolts. The hydro-fuel composition can be used in a diesel engine after the temperature of the diesel engine reaches a temperature of 80 C. to 90 C.
